Hyacinth Collision Center Introduce
Located at 2005 Hyacinth St NE, Salem, OR 97031, USA, Hyacinth Collision Center (HCC) operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, focusing on collision repair services. For local users in Salem, OR, this establishment provides a range of services aimed at restoring vehicles after accidents. The following introduction provides an objective overview of the center based on available public information, including customer feedback.
Based on the provided customer reviews, which detail experiences within the facility and with the vehicle, the operational environment at Hyacinth Collision Center appears to have faced challenges in maintaining expected standards. While a typical collision center would strive for a clean, organized, and professional environment, the customer feedback suggests inconsistencies. Mentions of "bondo dust on the inside" of a repaired vehicle indicate a lack of thoroughness in cleaning the workspace and the vehicle post-repair. The report of "scratches, dirty hand prints on my headliner, and my gas is missing" further paints a picture of a facility where internal vehicle care and overall cleanliness might be a concern. The fact that employees were observed driving a customer's car to a fast-food drive-thru also points to a lack of professional conduct regarding vehicle handling within the facility's operational environment. Ideally, an auto repair station, particularly one specializing in collision repair, should maintain a secure, orderly, and customer-respecting environment, with a strong emphasis on protecting the customer's property.
As an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in collision work, Hyacinth Collision Center offers services typical of a body shop that deals with accident damage. Based on the customer reviews, these services include:
- Collision Repair: This is the core service, involving the repair of vehicle damage sustained in accidents, ranging from minor cosmetic issues to more significant structural damage. One review details a "trailer blazer ss3 all wheel drive in for repairs from a car accident" and another describes a car hit by a "dump truck."
- Paint Repair and Matching: The center undertakes paint work to restore the vehicle's finish after repairs. However, customer feedback explicitly mentions "orange peel from the half ass attempt to match my paint," indicating issues with the quality and consistency of their paint matching and application services.
- Tire Replacement and Management: One review highlights that they "replaced one tire" and advised the customer "to shave the brand new tire to match my other tires," despite differing tread depths. This points to their involvement in tire services as part of collision repair, although the advice given regarding tire shaving was later contradicted by another shop as potentially affecting the drivetrain.
- Insurance Claim Processing: As indicated by a customer being suggested by their "Progressive Ins. Adj.," Hyacinth Collision Center works with insurance companies to manage claims and repairs. However, the experience described, involving communication issues and disputes over covered damages, suggests complexities in their insurance claim handling process.
- Vehicle Tear Down for Assessment: One review mentions HCC tearing down a vehicle for assessment before the repair was approved, which is a standard step in collision repair, though the subsequent events in the review highlight issues with this process.
The services are broadly what one would expect from a collision center, but the execution and customer perception, as per the provided reviews, indicate areas of concern regarding quality and professional advice.
Based on the provided customer reviews, several features of Hyacinth Collision Center emerge, though many are presented through the lens of negative customer experiences. One feature appears to be their connection with insurance adjusters, as a customer was "suggested HCC by my Progressive Ins. Adj." This suggests they are on preferred lists for some insurance companies. However, the subsequent difficulties with communication and scope of work as perceived by the customer present this feature as a source of frustration. Another operational feature mentioned is their approach to tire replacement and balancing, where a new tire was replaced and advice given to shave it to match existing worn tires, despite potential drivetrain implications, which was later contradicted by another professional. This highlights a concern about their technical advice and adherence to best practices for vehicle integrity. The reviews also point to significant issues in quality control and attention to detail, with complaints about "orange peel," "bondo dust," "half the work isn't done," "hole tore in my headliner," "scratches," and "dirty hand prints." Furthermore, the alleged misuse of a customer's vehicle (driving to McDonald's) and claims of "stolen gas and cargo net" are serious accusations that reflect poorly on the center's operational integrity and respect for customer property. The repeated delays in repair completion and communication issues, where the car "wasn't ready" multiple times despite promises, also stand out as critical negative features of their service delivery. The overall sentiment from these reviews is one of severe dissatisfaction, leading customers to state they "will never be returning and have nothing good to say," and "will never recommend them for anything." This feedback critically defines the perceived features of their service.
Specific promotional information, such as direct discounts, loyalty programs, or special offers, is not provided in the given text. Based on the customer reviews, Hyacinth Collision Center's primary method of acquiring customers appears to be through referrals from insurance adjusters. However, the highly negative experiences detailed by customers could significantly counteract any positive promotional efforts. In the auto repair industry, word-of-mouth is a crucial form of promotion, and consistently negative experiences, as described, would likely deter new business rather than attract it. A business with such reviews would struggle to leverage traditional promotional strategies effectively without first addressing fundamental operational and quality control issues. Their phone numbers, (503) 361-1273 and +1 503-361-1273, are available for direct contact. However, without positive customer anecdotes or clear service guarantees, the implied promotional efforts appear to be overshadowed by the reported service failures. The emphasis from the customer reviews is more on avoiding the service than on any inviting promotional aspects.

I had used this company for many years. Untill recently. I had taken my 06 trailer blazer ss3 all wheel drive in for repairs from a car accident. They replaced one tire and told me to shave the brand new tire to match my other tires. Which were 60percent tread. We were told that it was fine to drive like that. I ended up having to purchase all new tires.Their was orange peal from the half ass attempt to match my paint. There was bondo dust on the inside we ended up taking it to another shop and were told if we did drive with the tires like that it would affect the drive train. There is so much more. Just know I will never be returning and have nothing good to say. Will never recommend them for anything

I was suggested HCC by my Progressive Ins. Adj., Brent called me to arrange towing for my vehicle. I went by shop to sign paperwork and then was taken outside for a walk-around of my car, the your guy told me insurance wasn't going to cover most of the damages to my car from the dump truck hitting me. I called the insurance adjuster and left a message saying I didn't want HCC to do the work, the adjuster calls me a few days later stating that HCC tore my car down and weren't fixing it, and I needed to find somewhere to take it. No other car repair would touch it The adjuster calls and says HCC agrees to finish the repairs. 2 weeks later I'm called to pick up my car and half the work isn't done and what is done is horrible. The invoice stated a new wheel and time for repairs but repairs weren't done, Brent calls me after I refused the car, and says that's just what I wanted you to do. IM GOING TO MAKE SURE YOUR CARS FIXED. I called several times over next 4 weeks and received a call saying it was ready and it wasn't, now theres a hole tore in my headliner and scratches, dirty hand prints on my headliner, and my gas is missing. Brent tells me it will be ready in a week it's not, I call and he tells me tomorrow thenThursday, I go to Salem to run errands and see 2 HCC employees driving my car to McDonald's drive thru. I go get my car and Brent tells me he can fix the head liner at cost, really?, They stole my gas and cargo net. Don't here

Zero stars! The worst! Owner is dishonest, seems like kinda a fast talking con, talks to women in the "little lady" condescending way.. The work they do is substandard. This is their finished product after having already returned it a second time. I spent hours dealing with their incompetence, they obviously do not have pride in their work or value customers time. Paint has what appears to be particles of sand under it, bubbled and rough textured. Dents were not fixed, mirror still damaged. They had my car for nearly a month for a simple fender bender. I call and get put on hold then call dropped repeatedly, I leave voicemail with no response. After 7 full days of no communication I had my insurance rep physically go check on my car to see if they even still had it. Then the condescending owner sends me this.. " I apologize. Had I known about it I would have resolved it. I treat all my customers with respect and kindness. Just the way I was raised. The door needs cut and polished. Takes about an hour. I genuinely appreciated our conversations. I was raised you catch more bees with honey than vinegar." Very unprofessional. The door should have been cut and polished before returning the car to me, for the second time. How many times do you expect customers to bring their car back to fix the same issues? Your customers are paying you to do a job, you are not entitled to get "honey". The message from Brent the owner is implying that since I expect them to do the job they are getting paid to do "I'm not raised right" And to add further exasperation my gas tank was syphoned out of while my car was in their possession. Crooks. Update. I had to take my car to a different shop to fix all the issues. The other shop flagged in yellow the sand particles and dripping pooling paint. They also pointed out that hycinth over sprayed paint on they test of my car trapping dirt and dust all over my hood & roof.

I just moved to Salem a month ago and some dope backed into my car and crunched the driver's side. I don't have a mechanic here yet but my mom recommended Hyacinth. The very first interaction with them over the phone blew every customer service experience I've had in the last few years away. The owner is super friendly, with a great sense of humor, while providing relevant details at the same time. As soon as the insurance company approved the estimate, they got it done. Turns out I also needed a new starter and they ordered the part, it arrived within the hour, and I was scheduled the very next day at a crazy good price. Stellar service! I have to give special props to the guy who detailed my car, which is such a wonderful service they provide for free. My car was a disaster, I have a long-haired dog and it was almost as clean as when I bought the car. Thanks to all of you! It's so nice to find a shop I can trust so quickly. Highly recommend!!

Hyacinth Collision Center fixed my front bumper years ago after a wreck. They were professional, efficient and did a great job, so when I needed more work done I went back!! The owner was so communicative, respectful, and all around kind. Brent bent over backwards to work with me on my timeline. He was patient with me even though I kept pushing my drop off date. I pushed it back last minute and multiples, he was never annoyed or acted like I was being inconvenient. He always responded to my calls or texts immediately. He also worked with me to have a quick and easy pickup. The employee that did the work on my bumper cover did an impeccable job and even fixed my head light and worked on my hood to close better for no extra cost. He just really cared about the work he was doing and me as a customer. They also detailed the inside of my car really well which was such a treat to come into, and a chore for them because my car was not anywhere near clean. I would recommend Hyacinth to anyone and I will be coming back for any other car needs!!
