Hot Rods & Threads Introduce
Located at 8739 Horton Hwy, College Grove, TN 37046, USA, Hot Rods & Threads operates as a unique and highly specialized entity within the broader category of Auto Repair Stations. Unlike typical general repair shops, Hot Rods & Threads focuses its expertise on a niche but passionate segment of the automotive world: the restoration, customization, and maintenance of hot rods, muscle cars, cool trucks, and classic vehicles. This specialization means they are not just fixing everyday commuter cars; they are preserving automotive history and fulfilling the dreams of classic car enthusiasts. Their services are crucial for owners who seek to bring vintage vehicles back to their original glory, enhance their performance, or create bespoke custom builds. This targeted approach positions them as a go-to destination for those with specific needs that extend beyond standard automotive repair.
The environment at Hot Rods & Threads is likely to be characterized by a blend of a professional workshop and a showcase for automotive artistry. While specific details about a customer waiting area or lounge are not extensively available, the nature of their work implies a setting where classic vehicles are meticulously worked on. This would mean well-equipped bays, specialized tools for fabrication and bodywork, and potentially areas dedicated to upholstery or custom interior work. The atmosphere is generally expected to be one of passion for classic automobiles, with a visible display of ongoing projects or completed vehicles that highlight their craftsmanship. For clients who bring in their cherished classic cars, the environment needs to instill confidence in the shop's ability to handle such valuable and often complex projects. It's a place where the grease and grit of a working garage meet the meticulous attention to detail required for high-end automotive restoration.
Hot Rods & Threads offers a specialized range of services and goods for sale, all centered around the unique requirements of classic and custom vehicles. Their core competencies include:
- Full Service Hot Rod Shop: This indicates a comprehensive capability to handle all aspects of hot rod building and maintenance.
- Specializing in Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Cool Trucks: Their expertise lies in these specific vehicle types, meaning they understand their unique mechanics, aesthetics, and common issues.
- Fuel Injection Work: Modernizing classic vehicles with fuel injection systems, which can improve performance and reliability.
- Custom Interiors: Crafting bespoke interiors to match the classic or custom aesthetic, often involving specialized upholstery and trim work.
- Vehicle Lowering: Modifying the suspension to achieve a desired stance and handling characteristics.
- Fabrication: Custom metalwork and component creation, essential for unique builds and repairs where original parts are unavailable.
- Hot Rod Body & Chassis Packages: Offering comprehensive solutions for building or restoring the foundational elements of a hot rod.
- Parts & Accessories: Supplying specialized parts and accessories relevant to classic car restoration and customization.
These services demonstrate a deep commitment to the art and science of vintage automotive work, providing solutions that a general auto repair shop cannot. They are selling not just a service, but a transformation, bringing classic vehicles to life or enhancing them to new levels of performance and style.
The features of Hot Rods & Threads are best understood through the contrasting experiences of their customers. A prominent positive feature is their widely acknowledged expertise in classic car restoration. One highly positive review highlights this by stating, "This is THE place for restoring your hotrod. They've been a blessing helping me restore our 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo BBC." This suggests a strong capability and a dedicated team passionate about these types of vehicles. The ability to handle complex projects like a "1972 Chevy Monte Carlo BBC" restoration indicates a high level of skill in engine work, bodywork, and overall project management for vintage cars. For many classic car owners, finding a shop that genuinely understands and respects their vehicle is paramount, and this review suggests Hot Rods & Threads embodies that. Their specialization in "Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Cool Trucks, Fuel Injection and Custom Interiors, Vehicle Lowering, Fabrication, Hot Rod Body & Chassis Packages, Parts & Accessories" further defines their unique position in the market as a comprehensive solution for automotive enthusiasts.
However, a significant feature, highlighted by a critical review, relates to their customer service and warranty handling post-payment. A deeply dissatisfied customer reported that "After we paid our bill and realized we had a couple of Transmission issues on our transmission that we just had rebuilt through them, the customer service went down hill fast, got treated extremely rude, got the run around about fixing the transmission leak, ultimately got charged for it, and it should have been under warranty 100% since it had only been days since it was rebuilt." This suggests that while their technical skills in restoration might be strong, their post-service customer relationship management and warranty adherence can be a critical point of contention. The customer's strong advice to "STAY AWAY!" and "I would NOT recommend this place" underscores a perceived lack of respect and responsibility after significant financial outlay. This specific feature concerning warranty and customer service requires potential clients to exercise due diligence, clearly establishing terms, expectations, and warranty coverage in writing before committing to extensive and expensive restoration work.
Regarding promotional information, specific, current, time-limited promotions for Hot Rods & Threads are not publicly detailed. However, businesses specializing in classic car restoration often rely on their reputation, word-of-mouth referrals, and the visual appeal of their completed projects as their primary forms of promotion. Given the high-value nature of their services, pricing is typically customized based on the complexity and scope of each restoration or customization project. Customers seeking their services should anticipate a detailed consultation to establish the project's requirements, which will then inform the pricing. It is always advisable to directly contact Hot Rods & Threads at (615) 368-3000 or their mobile number +1 615-368-3000 to discuss specific needs, obtain quotes for their services, and inquire about any general policies or potential payment plans. While explicit discounts or seasonal offers might not be advertised, the value proposition lies in their specialized expertise and the potential for a high-quality restoration of a beloved vehicle. However, in light of the critical feedback, it is paramount for prospective customers to discuss and clarify warranty terms and customer service protocols thoroughly before initiating any work.
In conclusion, Hot Rods & Threads at 8739 Horton Hwy, College Grove, TN 37046, USA, is a specialized Auto Repair Station dedicated to the intricate art of classic car, hot rod, and muscle car restoration and customization. Their extensive range of services, including custom fabrication, engine work, interior design, and body and chassis packages, positions them as a unique and capable shop for enthusiasts. While they have a strong reputation for their technical skills in restoration, as evidenced by positive testimonials, potential customers must be aware of past issues concerning post-service customer care and warranty fulfillment. It is crucial for anyone considering their services for a valuable classic vehicle to engage in detailed discussions, obtain clear written agreements on services and warranties, and establish expectations for communication. For those seeking to bring their classic automotive dreams to life, Hot Rods & Threads offers specialized expertise, but careful consideration of all aspects of the service relationship is highly recommended. To learn more or discuss a project, interested individuals should contact them at (615) 368-3000.

After we paid our bill and realized we had a couple of Transmission issues on our transmission that we Just had rebuilt through them, the customer service went down hill fast, got treated extremely rude, Got the run around about fixing the transmission leak, ultimately got charged for it, and it should have been Under warranty 100% since it had only been days since it was rebuilt, Customers return when you make things right and treat them with respect, I will NOT be back ever, and we own two classic cars, learn some customer service skills if you are going to run a business, I would NOT recommend this place, the way we got treated was just totally unacceptable after spending a lot of money. STAY AWAY!
