Hi Tech Automotive Introduce

Hi Tech Automotive, located at 3229 Claremont Ave NE Ste 2 in Albuquerque, NM 87107, operates within the Auto Repair Stations category, providing both auto parts and installation services. Based on recent customer reviews, Hi Tech Automotive offers a range of products and services, with a focus on vehicle security and convenience systems like car alarms and remote starters. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the store based on the available customer feedback, highlighting both potential strengths and areas where customer experiences have varied.

The environment of Hi Tech Automotive is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, as an auto parts store that also offers installation services, it likely features a retail area where products are displayed and potentially a service bay or garage area where installations are performed. The first review mentions a customer waiting for several hours during an alarm installation, suggesting the presence of a waiting area, though its comfort or amenities are not detailed. Without further information, a comprehensive description of the store's environment is not possible.

Hi Tech Automotive offers several key services, as indicated by the customer reviews:

  • Car Alarm Installation: One customer specifically went to Hi Tech Automotive to have a car alarm installed in their Honda Fit. The review suggests that they offer competitive pricing for this service compared to other providers in Albuquerque.
  • Remote Start Installation: A second customer review mentions having a remote start system installed by Rodney, indicating that this is another service offered by Hi Tech Automotive. This customer reported a quick and professional installation experience.
  • Sale of Auto Parts: While not explicitly detailed, the nature of offering installation services for items like car alarms and remote starters implies that Hi Tech Automotive also sells the corresponding auto parts.

The features of Hi Tech Automotive, based on the customer reviews, include:

  • Competitive Pricing: For at least some services, such as car alarm installation, Hi Tech Automotive appears to offer prices that are difficult to beat in the local Albuquerque market.
  • Installation Services: They provide installation for the products they sell, offering a convenient solution for customers who need professional fitting of automotive accessories.
  • Experienced Installers: One review specifically praises Rodney for his professional and friendly service during a remote start installation, suggesting the presence of competent installation technicians.

However, one of the reviews also highlights a significant issue with the quality of installation for a car alarm. The customer reported that the initial installation of a shock sensor was done incorrectly, contrary to the manufacturer's instructions, which rendered the alarm ineffective. This suggests a potential inconsistency in the knowledge or attention to detail of the installation team, at least in some instances. The fact that a different auto electronics store identified and rectified the installation error underscores the importance of proper installation for the functionality of automotive accessories.

The second customer's positive experience with the remote start installation indicates that Hi Tech Automotive is capable of providing good service and quality installation. This suggests that the negative experience with the car alarm installation might not be representative of all their services, or that there may have been specific issues with that particular installation or installer.

Currently, no specific promotional information for Hi Tech Automotive is mentioned in the provided reviews. Auto parts and installation service providers sometimes offer discounts on specific products, package deals for combined parts and installation, or seasonal promotions. Local users are encouraged to contact Hi Tech Automotive directly at (505) 369-6079 or +1 505-369-6079 to inquire about any current promotions or special offers they may have.

In conclusion, Hi Tech Automotive in Albuquerque, NM, offers auto parts and installation services, including car alarms and remote starts. One customer reported a positive experience with a remote start installation, praising the professionalism and speed of the service. However, another customer detailed a negative experience with a car alarm installation, where the shock sensor was initially installed incorrectly, leading to the alarm not functioning as intended. This issue was later resolved by another service provider who identified the installation error. This feedback suggests that while Hi Tech Automotive may offer competitive pricing and capable installers, it is crucial for customers to ensure that installations are performed correctly and according to manufacturer specifications. If considering Hi Tech Automotive for alarm installations, customers may want to explicitly request that sensors are installed according to best practices and manufacturer guidelines. For remote start installations and potentially other services, the positive feedback indicates a potentially satisfactory experience. Local users should weigh these experiences and consider their specific needs when deciding whether to utilize the services of Hi Tech Automotive.

Hi Tech Automotive Customer Reviews

I went to Hi Tech last April to have an alarm installed on my 2016 Honda Fit since someone had broken into my car and stole a radar detector and vandalized the interior of the car. The price for the alarm and installation could not be beat by anyone else in Albuquerque. It did take many hours to install the alarm, and it's not something I would recommend you wait for. I was never really happy with the alarm since it didn't seem to perform the way it should. I could rock the car violently, and the alarm would not go off. After 6 months, I decided to return to Hi Tech (first week of October 2018) to inform them that I was not happy with the alarm and to see if they could install a motion sensor to make it more effective. After some discussion, they told me they cannot install the sensor and that I should go to Cash & Carry Electronics to see if they could do that kind of installation. I went to C&C, and after listening to my complaint and idea of installing a motion sensor, the guy there took a look at my car and the installation Hi Tech had done. He told me that a motion detector would not be effective in correcting the problem I was having and that a level sensor might be more appropriate. He also told me that Hi Tech had installed the alarm module/shock sensor wrong in that they had screwed it onto a metal surface when it should have been installed to a wire loom so it could better detect any motion applied to the car. He told that it even says in the installation instructions for the alarm (Avital 3100LX) that the sensor should not be attached to a sold metal surface and should be attached to a wire loom, which I did verify by downloading the installation instructions for the alarm from the internet. He told me he could reposition the sensor and install the level sensor for about $65.00. Since it was a Friday afternoon, I told him I would contact Hi Tech about this and get back to him the next week sometime. Over the weekend, I decided that instead of contacting Hi Tech I would just have C&C reposition the sensor without adding a level sensor to see if that corrected the problem. I went back to C&C on the next weekday to have them reposition the shock sensor, which they did for me at a cost of $25.00. After picking up the car and testing it for several days, I was amazed by the difference. The alarm now works as it should and as one would expect it to. In fact, I even had to reduce the sensitivity of the shock sensor so the alarm would not go off when a motorcycle or a car with a loud muffler went by. My advice, if you are going to get an alarm from Hi Tech, is to make sure the installers at Hi Tech are aware that you want the shock sensor/module installed to a wire loom rather than bolted to a metal surface. The Avital alarms they install are excellent and work for what anyone in Albuquerque would need one for, but in order to work as they were designed, they must be installed correctly to be effective.

Great service and a great product. Will not drive another vehicle where I don't have a remote start! Rodney was very professional and friendly while conducting the installation, I was in and out of there in no time.

No car alarms. Just interlock service. Waste of time/gas.
