George's Old Volvos

I've been going here for a couple years now. Bob is incredibly knowledgeable, especially with older Volvo's. I drive a 2005 s80 with nearly 220k miles. Why 5 stars? This man just enjoys working on older Volvo's. He wants to see me hit 300k as much as I want to see it. Having been to several different mechanics over southern California, he by far is the most reasonably priced and his work is as good or better than any independent shop. I don't typically rate places I go, and even then I wait til I go there several times. I have always been happy to have my car serviced here. For instance I spent hours researching if I wanted to service my transmission and this guy off the top of his head already knew everything that I spent forever reading about. tl:dr If you have an older Volvo, live in or around Lompoc, and don't currently go here, you are missing out. Also as a one man shop, leave a message, he'll get back to you.

Very talented young man running the place. He knows more than anyone else in town about Volvos. He is honest and his prices are very fair, usually less than half what Volvo charges. He did my timing belt and a new radiator on my xc 90 and he used the same parts that Volvo uses (Nissin radiators for example) but for a fraction of the cost of the dealer. Over the last 20 year's he has built a strong reputation for having integrity and other mechanics in town have referred me to him several times. If you own a Volvo, take it to him. You'll be glad you did!

All I can say is Thank God for Bob! I cannot tell you how many times he has worked on my ‘96 Volvo and kept it running at 321,000+ miles! He’s honest, fair and does great work and is sooo nice to boot, the perfect mechanic. I honestly do not know what I would do without him. Just don’t ever leave Lompoc, Bob, because I’d probably have to go with you.😝 I recommend Bob and George’s Old Volvo 1000% 👍🏻😉💙

I've had my 86 Volvo serviced here a few times before I left the area but Bob knows what he's doing, which is always a good thing. I was having problems getting my car into gear which meant the car would still run but would've been overworking her and burning more gasoline than necessary. With the few possible solutions presented to me, one would have been terribly costly and time consuming while the other was simple enough and affordable, which of course, I went with the latter. Bob managed to squeeze me in and take care of my vehicle and my only regret (of many) about leaving town is not having my car serviced by him one last time.

I just have to say Bob, the guy that owns George's Old Volvos is the best Volvo mechanic around😀 I have been taking my "older Volvo" to him for a few years now, he always knows exactly what to do, he is a master mechanic with a layed back sense of humor...he is always busy because he really knows his stuff😁 Best mechanic in all of Lompoc if you own a Volvo, guaranteed he will take care of it and point you in the right direction if he can't. A real straight shooter, I would recommend him to anyone who owns an "older Volvo"....💯🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍
