Geo's Auto Repair # 1 Introduce

Geo's Auto Repair #1, situated at 3711 Cheatham Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406, USA, functions within the "Auto Repair Stations" category. This establishment offers various automotive services to local users in Minneapolis. While the precise scope of all their general auto repair services isn't extensively detailed in publicly available information, some specific services and customer experiences can be highlighted.

Environment and General Overview

As an auto repair station, Geo's Auto Repair #1 operates from a physical location designed to facilitate vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. The typical environment for such a business includes a garage or workshop area where vehicles are serviced, a reception area for customer interaction, and potentially a waiting area. The efficiency and organization of such a space can significantly impact customer experience. Based on available information, the focus appears to be on direct vehicle service rather than a retail auto parts store model.

Services Offered

From the information available, Geo's Auto Repair #1 is involved in general car repair and maintenance. A notable specialized service offered by this location is the installation and servicing of Ignition Interlock Devices (IID). They are a certified installation center for Alcohol Detection Systems (ADS) ignition interlock devices, also known as car breathalyzers. This service includes:

  • IID Installation: Certified technicians install the device in a vehicle, which typically takes 1-3 hours depending on the car's make and model.
  • IID Servicing: The shop provides ongoing service for the interlock device, including required calibrations.
  • IID Removal: They also handle the removal of the device upon completion of a customer's interlock program.
  • Customer Support for IID: The technicians explain the testing process and how to use the device. For those installing after a DUI, they can provide a certificate of installation often necessary for driver's license reinstatement.

Beyond this specialized service, customer reviews suggest they also undertake general automotive repairs, such as bumper repair. However, specific details about the full range of general repair services like oil changes, brake work, engine diagnostics, or tire services are not explicitly provided in the given information. Similarly, there is no information provided about specific goods for sale at this location, implying their primary business model is service-oriented.

Features and Customer Perceptions

One of the key features of Geo's Auto Repair #1, as highlighted by external sources, is its role as a certified provider for Ignition Interlock Devices, making it a point of contact for individuals in Minneapolis who require such installations due to legal requirements.

However, an objective introduction also requires acknowledging customer feedback. The provided customer reviews, while limited, present a challenging picture:

  • One customer reported a "terrible" service experience, specifically noting issues with a bumper repair that they felt was "ruined." They also described delays in receiving parts, with a one-week waiting period extending to an additional two weeks. A lack of attentive communication, with staff "literally walking away" during conversations, was also mentioned, leading to a strong recommendation against the shop.
  • Another customer attempting to purchase a truck from the establishment detailed a "terrible experience," alleging that agreed-upon terms were broken. Concerns were raised about trustworthiness and communication, with claims of codes being "deleted to cover them up" during inspections and a constant need for the customer to call to ascertain the status of work. This customer also advised others to "stay away at all cost."

These reviews suggest potential areas of concern regarding communication, efficiency, quality of repair work, and overall customer trust, as perceived by these individuals. It is important for potential customers to consider these perspectives alongside the services offered.

Promotional Information (Based on Available Data)

The primary promotional aspect of Geo's Auto Repair #1, as presented in the provided context and public domain, is its certification for Ignition Interlock Device installation and servicing. This niche service addresses a specific and often critical need for individuals required to have these devices installed. The ease of access and local availability of such a certified center can be a significant factor for those mandated to use IIDs.

For individuals seeking general auto repair, the telephone number (612) 200-8352, or mobile +1 612-200-8352, and the address 3711 Cheatham Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406, USA, are provided as contact points. Prospective customers are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence, perhaps by calling ahead to confirm service availability for specific repair needs and to discuss pricing and estimated timelines.

In summary, Geo's Auto Repair #1 in Minneapolis serves as an auto repair station, notably providing essential services for Ignition Interlock Device installation and maintenance. While offering general auto repair, customer feedback indicates areas where service quality and communication could be improved. For anyone considering their services, particularly for general repairs, it would be prudent to reach out directly to discuss their needs and clarify expectations.

I went to this repair shop I took my car there there service is really terrible. I took my car there for them to fix my bumper and they just ruined it. They ordered me a light and told me it would take one week when I went there a week later I was told to wait another 2 weeks. While your talking to them there literally walking away. Wouldn’t recommended this place to anyone.

Tried to buy a truck from them. Terrible experience. Had terms and and agreements to purchase vehicle, broke everyone one of them. Everytime I came back to inspect the truck they would just delete codes to cover them up. Horrible communication, always had to call to see if work was being done p and not trustworthy. I would stay away at all cost
