Gary's Introduce

Located at 32 Welwood Ave, Hawley, PA 18428, USA, Gary's operates as a dual-purpose establishment, primarily functioning as an Auto Repair Station while also likely offering gas station services. This convenient combination makes it a go-to spot for local users seeking both fuel and comprehensive vehicle care. For appointments or inquiries, Gary's can be reached at (570) 226-9310 or via mobile at +1 570-226-9310.

The environment at Gary's, as inferred from customer feedback, emphasizes functionality and a focus on providing efficient automotive services. While specific details about the physical layout or amenities for the gas station aspect are not explicitly provided, a combined gas station and auto repair facility typically features fuel pumps for easy access, ample parking, and an on-site repair shop. The auto repair section would be equipped with the necessary bays, tools, and diagnostic equipment to handle various vehicle issues. The reviews, while mixed, lean heavily towards highlighting a professional, yet personable, atmosphere where customers feel their concerns are heard and addressed. The presence of a "sweetest house pup" mentioned in one review suggests a friendly and welcoming touch to the business, creating a more comfortable experience for customers.

As an Auto Repair Station, Gary's offers a broad spectrum of services to keep vehicles running smoothly. Their capabilities include general automotive maintenance such as oil changes, fluid checks, and tire services (including repair and replacement). They are also well-versed in more complex mechanical repairs, with customer testimonials mentioning everything from comprehensive vehicle inspections to more intricate issues like transmission repairs and AC servicing. The ability to handle diverse problems, including unusual ones like a "squirrel infestation that chewed through 27 wires," showcases their versatility and problem-solving skills. Some reviews indicate they offer brake services, including rotor resurfacing, which can save customers money compared to full replacements. Their commitment to offering full vehicle inspections and providing recommendations, often without pressure to fix unnecessary items, adds to their service integrity.

The features that define Gary's and significantly impact its reputation are primarily its commitment to honesty, fair pricing, and reliable workmanship, alongside a dedication to customer satisfaction. The vast majority of customer reviews strongly emphasize these positive attributes. Many customers state they have been loyal patrons for "years," with some asserting they "will only bring my vehicles to this shop" because Gary and his crew are "the only honest and fair mechanics around." This recurring theme of honesty is critical in the automotive industry, and Gary's appears to excel in building that trust. Customers appreciate that they don't feel pressured into unnecessary repairs and often find the costs to be "reasonable." For example, one happy customer mentioned that they were "happy that it didn't cost me an arm and leg," and another praised them for saving money by resurfacing brake rotors instead of replacing them.

However, it is important to acknowledge a single, highly critical review that contrasts sharply with the overwhelmingly positive feedback. This review describes an alleged attempt to upsell a serpentine belt and charging for work that the customer felt was unnecessary or incorrectly performed. While this review stands out, it is important to consider it within the context of the numerous positive testimonials that laud Gary's for integrity and fairness. It's possible for isolated incidents or misunderstandings to occur in any business, but the consistent praise from a long-term customer base suggests that such experiences are not typical of Gary's overall service quality. The positive reviews often specifically mention the staff, including "Joe, the mechanic," who has "20+ years experience," and the business being "woman owned," which some customers appreciate as an added positive.

While specific, time-limited promotional offers for Gary's are not explicitly detailed in the provided information (beyond what a generic "gas station" or "auto repair station" might typically offer), their enduring commitment to fair pricing and honest recommendations acts as a continuous "promotion" for their services. Businesses that consistently deliver good value and trustworthy advice tend to build a strong, loyal customer base, reducing the need for aggressive promotional campaigns. Many reviews highlight that they "do an excellent job for the price" and provide "great service performed at a reasonable cost." They are often praised for being "accommodating" and providing "fast and reliable service," which are invaluable features that implicitly promote customer loyalty. Customers often appreciate the "courtesy pick up service when needed," further enhancing the customer experience. Those looking for auto parts can also expect competitive pricing, as is common for repair shops that also function as auto parts providers, though specific inventory details aren't listed.

In conclusion, Gary's at 32 Welwood Ave, Hawley, PA, primarily functions as a highly-rated Auto Repair Station with the added convenience of being a gas station. Despite a single outlying negative comment, the overwhelming majority of customer feedback paints a picture of a business deeply committed to honesty, fair pricing, and providing top-notch automotive care. Under the leadership of Gary and his experienced team, including Joe, they offer a comprehensive range of services, from routine maintenance to complex repairs, with a clear focus on customer satisfaction and building long-term trust. For residents of Hawley and surrounding areas seeking reliable and transparent auto service, Gary's stands out as a highly recommended local option.

Gary's Customer Reviews

What a bunch of low life losers. Tried to tell me I had wrong serpentine belt. I think they assumed I was a rich Poconos child. Pretty sad people at this business. Cross referenced the part at several places guy at the shop even called the napa to try to clear it up with me then the guy at napa after I returned the belt he tried to tell me there were different variations. Guy at shop tried to upsell me a belt at his price. Then charged me $53 to put my old belt on. Clown clown. Clown I just finished doing it myself. Un freaking believable honestly

Would not recommend. I have gone here several times for repairs on several vehicles and every time he over charges and is very rude. This last time was the final time for a reason. I asked them to simply take a look at my muffler and give me an estimate because I didn’t have the money for it right now. Gary himself pressures me into leaving my car there to have it looked at, saying since there’s something wrong with it I better get it looked at then. Well obviously, that’s why I am here. He gives me a call back an hour later telling me the price and I say alright, I’ll come pick it back up then and come back when I have the money. He proceeds to tell me he already took the whole muffler off and it has to be replaced and they will be closed for the next few days so it has to be done now. My muffler got fixed, but 100% not what I asked for. Did not listen to the customers wish at all. Even better, he was rude to me every time I had to interact with him, and told me he will leave the key under my mat. When I came back to pick it up it was not under any of my mats and I had to rip my entire car apart to find it in my window.

When you're driving on Pennsylvania roads that's a risk in itself most of the time. I nailed a pothole and thought for sure I broke my truck. I brought it to Gary- What I thought was going to be a major expense turned out not to be!!! Because of their experience, expertise, and honesty. I was quickly back of my way! I highly recommend them! Best around for sure!
