Fred's Transmission & Clutch

I can't say enough good things about the shop. They got my vehicle in right before Christmas for a fluid change (was feeling kinda clunky) and said they'd let me know if there was any bigger issue. I thought oh boy don't let that be the thing where they always find other things you then have to spend money on. I was so pleasantly surprised, nothing else is wrong, and they did not try to upsell a single thing. Got it done and I can feel the difference in my vehicle! Highly recommend!!!

Sage, (I think is his name), is PHENOMENAL! He worked with us when we didn’t know if we could afford the labor of a new transmission, he was kind and gave us some leeway & grace during the holidays. Great price for diagnostics (I was quoted $100 more at a different location of Fred’s). Thank you so much Sage!!!! It’s too bad we couldn’t find a rich uncle… lol thanks for all of your positivity!! 110% suggest these guys at the Lincolnway location!

Let me just say that Fred's transmission has always done my family good going back years so when my friend decided to go over to them to see if they might be able to notice something that I didn't about her transmission they charged her $176 and on the piece of paper all it said was diagnostic it didn't say what they did what they diagnosed or whatever they just told her she needed a brand new $5,000 transmission even though the check engine light was on they didn't put any of the codes that were on nothing there I also gave them the new part number and solenoid body strategy number for a transmission control module that I recently installed and programmed to the transmission with my really really expensive scanner and they didn't even know what that was so apparently they didn't scan the transmission control solenoid and apparently they didn't check the codes so what they do that's worth $176 there is no explanation of oh yeah your friction pads for Gears 1 and 2 have slowly been torn apart and so that's why I wanted to won't engage and they slipped there and that's why the vehicle starts out in third gear or nothing but I plan to go back with her sometime this week and ask him a question and probably demand our money back unless they can prove what they did that's worth $176 Like I said back in the day I used to refer everyone to friends but nowadays after that no I don't think so

As a woman you always feel like a mechanic is going to take advantage of your lack of knowledge… not here. To be given a quote and it actually come UNDER the quote is unheard of. Communication was above and beyond, patience, and kindness was unmatched. Would give more stars if possible!!!

Had a rebuild done here on an old lincoln continental I owned years ago. I was planning to move from Michiana to CA and the job had to be done first. Rebuild and road test done on a Friday and I drove the car that night 2000 miles across country with no problems. Great job by Jim and team.

Fred’s Transmission rebuilt my transmission in a timely manner for a fair price. Plus it came with a warranty. Couldn’t be happier with their service!
