Fix My Rig Introduce

Fix My Rig, located at 4151 Lockbourne Industrial Pkwy, Columbus, OH 43207, USA, operates as an Auto Repair Station primarily focused on providing roadside assistance and basic on-site repairs for commercial vehicles. Accessible via phone at (614) 409-0588 or mobile at +1 614-409-0588, this service aims to address immediate, non-complex issues for trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles that may encounter problems on the road. It's important for local users to understand the specific scope of services offered by Fix My Rig to align their expectations with the company's capabilities, as outlined in customer feedback.

The environment of Fix My Rig, as gathered from the provided information, is characterized by its mobile nature. Unlike a traditional brick-and-mortar auto repair shop with multiple bays and a fixed waiting area, Fix My Rig appears to be a mobile service that dispatches technicians to the vehicle's location. This means the "environment" is wherever the customer's truck has broken down. The reviews indicate that technicians from Fix My Rig "will show up on time and be friendly and professional," suggesting a strong focus on initial customer interaction and punctuality for their mobile calls. However, the operational environment for more complex diagnostics, typically found in a well-equipped garage, seems to be a significant point of concern for customers seeking in-depth repair solutions. While a physical location is listed, the customer experience points to a mobile service, where the repairs are conducted roadside or at the customer's site. This model prioritizes convenience for on-the-spot issues rather than comprehensive workshop facilities.

As an Auto Repair Station, Fix My Rig's services appear to be specifically tailored to address immediate, less complex roadside issues for commercial vehicles. Based on customer feedback, their service offerings include foundational roadside assistance tasks such as battery changes and jump starts, which are crucial for getting a disabled vehicle moving again. They also handle minor component replacements like air valve and glad hand changes, which are common wear items on heavy-duty trucks. These services are invaluable for drivers needing quick fixes to continue their journey. However, it is crucial to note that the reviews strongly advise against calling Fix My Rig for more intricate issues, such as check engine light diagnostics or problems related to DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) and derate issues. Customers report that Fix My Rig may attempt to clear codes, which can inadvertently hinder a proper diagnosis by a more specialized facility or dealer. Furthermore, the feedback suggests they do not possess the specialized diagnostic equipment or trained employees specializing in diagnostics required for complex troubleshooting, such as transmission control module issues or intricate wiring problems. Therefore, while effective for basic, immediate roadside needs, their service scope does not appear to encompass advanced vehicle diagnostics or comprehensive mechanical repairs.

The key features of Fix My Rig, as highlighted by customer experiences, present a mixed picture. On the positive side, customers acknowledge their punctuality and the friendly and professional demeanor of their technicians during their on-site visits. This aspect of their service is clearly valued by customers who need immediate roadside attention. However, the primary feature that emerges from the reviews is a significant limitation in their diagnostic and complex repair capabilities. Customers report that Fix My Rig technicians "do not know what they are doing" for intricate issues, lack "specialized diagnostic equipment," and use "jail break and generic software that isn’t adequate." This lack of specialized training and appropriate tools for advanced problems results in what customers describe as a failure to "permanently fix the problem" and potentially making it "impossible for the dealer to see the problem" by clearing codes prematurely. One customer's experience detailed a misdiagnosis of a "no start" issue, leading to an unnecessary starter replacement and further complications (transmission stuck in second gear, inoperable speedometer) due to an incorrect wiring attempt, which was later fixed by another mechanic with a simple broken wire diagnosis. This suggests that while Fix My Rig offers a convenient mobile service for basic issues, its capabilities are significantly limited for complex electronic or mechanical faults requiring in-depth diagnostic expertise.

Given the specific nature of services provided by Fix My Rig, promotional information would typically align with their core offerings. While no specific promotions are detailed in the provided information, a mobile repair service like Fix My Rig might offer incentives for quick response times, or perhaps flat rates for specific, common roadside services like battery boosts or tire changes. They might also promote their availability for emergency call-outs. However, based on the customer feedback, it's crucial for users to exercise discretion when considering their services, particularly for complex or undiagnosed vehicle issues. Rather than traditional discounts on comprehensive repairs, any promotions from Fix My Rig would likely focus on their immediate roadside assistance capabilities. Potential customers are advised to contact Fix My Rig directly at (614) 409-0588 or +1 614-409-0588 to inquire about their service rates for basic calls and to clearly communicate the nature of their vehicle problem to determine if it falls within the scope of Fix My Rig's confirmed capabilities, as opposed to requiring a more specialized diagnostic center or dealer.

Fix My Rig Customer Reviews

This is a service that you call for a battery change or jump start, air valve, glad hand change, etc. this is not who you call for check engine light or service def and derate issues. They will clear codes and make it impossible for the dealer ( who you should call in the first place) to see the problem. They do not tell you that they don’t know what they are doing and do not have the specialized diagnostic equipment to handle your problem. They will stay as long as they can and take as much of your money as they can and be fine with the fact they ultimately are unequipped to fix the issue. They will show up on time and be friendly and professional but take you for your money and not permanently fix the problem. They will plug into your truck computer using jail break and generic software that isn’t adequate and what they should have. They do not have employees who are trained and specialize in diagnostics. These are the facts and take heed.

Fix my rig came out for my freightliner for a no start(No Crank) they said it needed a starter, I told them to fix it next day, they came out put a starter on it and did not fix it. So they put a wire from the ignition switch to the starter then the truck did start. But now the trans was stuck in second gear speedometer inop park brake did not set when you put it in park. (they charged me $1500) Now I called out someone else put his laptop on it and said you don't have transmission control module was not on line, he found a broken wire to module put wiring back to factory at the starter he had it fixed in a hour for $350. Save your money don't call fix my rig

If you stopped here…keep looking!!! Called for roadside on my 26ft box. Wouldn’t start just turns. Waited 2 hours for them to arrive. Was charged 2 hour minimum @115 an hr. The tech did not troubleshoot. Only solution was to charge the batteries. And that didn’t work. So I was charged 287 for a 2 hour battery charge that didn’t work. Had to call another company willing to diagnose and actually assess the situation. Not just take my money for doing nothing.
