Firestone Complete Auto Care Introduce

Located at 2269 Ford Pkwy, St Paul, MN 55116, USA, Firestone Complete Auto Care operates as a prominent and widely recognized "Auto Repair Station" within the St. Paul community. This branch, part of a national chain, aims to provide a comprehensive range of automotive maintenance and repair services. They can be reached via phone at (651) 234-4842 or +1 651-234-4842. An objective introduction to this particular location, drawing from customer feedback, reveals a mixed picture of service delivery and customer satisfaction.

The environment at a Firestone Complete Auto Care typically includes a welcoming customer waiting area, service bays equipped with modern diagnostic and repair tools, and a visible reception counter for check-ins and payments. Firestone aims to provide a comfortable and transparent environment for its customers. However, the provided customer reviews indicate that the practical experience within this specific environment can sometimes fall short of expectations. Instances of unattended counters and a lack of immediate staff acknowledgment upon arrival, as described by one customer, suggest potential issues with front-end staffing or customer flow management, particularly during opening hours or peak times. The expectation for a "complete auto care" environment is one where customers feel acknowledged and their vehicles are promptly attended to, which, in these instances, was not the case.

As a "Complete Auto Care" center operating within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, Firestone offers an extensive array of services. These typically include:

  • Tire Services: Sales of new tires, tire rotation, balancing, flat repair, and alignment services. Firestone is, of course, a well-known tire manufacturer.
  • Oil Changes: Ranging from standard to full synthetic oil changes, often with various package options.
  • Brake Services: Inspection, repair, and replacement of brake pads, rotors, calipers, and other components.
  • Battery Services: Testing, replacement, and sales of new car batteries.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Multi-point inspections, safety inspections, and emissions testing (where applicable).
  • Engine Services: Diagnostics for check engine lights, tune-ups, and minor engine repairs.
  • Fluid Services: Flushes and replacements for transmission, coolant, power steering, and other essential fluids.
  • Suspension & Steering: Repair and replacement of shocks, struts, and steering components.
  • Air Conditioning Service: Diagnostics and repair of vehicle A/C systems.
  • Wiper Blades & Headlights: Sales and installation of these essential components.
These services are designed to cover nearly every aspect of routine vehicle maintenance and common repairs, positioning Firestone as a convenient option for a wide range of automotive needs.

Key features of Firestone Complete Auto Care, as a national brand, include a nationwide warranty on parts and labor, generally for 12 months or 12,000 miles, providing a certain level of customer assurance. They often promote the use of certified technicians and advanced diagnostic equipment to ensure quality repairs. The convenience of online appointment scheduling is also a feature designed to streamline the customer experience. However, the provided customer feedback highlights certain operational features that, at this particular location, have led to dissatisfaction. A critical feature that customers expect is effective communication and attention to detail. The customer describing the appointment mix-up, forgotten keys, and lack of follow-up calls points to significant breakdowns in these areas. The perception of being blamed ("your fault," "my fault") rather than receiving empathetic assistance is a severe detractor from a positive customer experience.

Another significant feature, or rather, a concern, highlighted by the second customer review, is the issue of upselling and transparency in pricing. The customer felt "completely taken advantage of" when charged for a full synthetic oil change without consultation, despite anticipating a standard oil change. This lack of clear communication and the perceived pressure to opt for a more expensive service without explicit consent or explanation are critical negative features. While one staff member attempted to mitigate the situation with a coupon and apology, the initial interaction and the general feeling of being exploited, especially for a "young woman who does not know much about cars," significantly impacts trust and willingness to return. This also suggests that while Firestone offers a range of services, the method of offering or explaining them can be a point of contention for customers.

Regarding promotional information, Firestone Complete Auto Care, being a large national chain, frequently runs various promotions and discounts. These can include coupons for oil changes, tire purchases, brake services, and seasonal maintenance packages. They often have online coupons and loyalty programs designed to encourage repeat business. While specific current promotions for this St. Paul location are not detailed in the provided reviews, the company's broader marketing strategy relies on competitive pricing and widespread availability of discounts. However, as evidenced by the second review, the effectiveness of these promotions can be undermined if the customer feels misled or unfairly charged, even with a coupon eventually applied. The most powerful "promotion" is typically positive word-of-mouth and a reputation for fair, transparent service, which, in these specific instances, appears to have been negatively impacted.

In conclusion, Firestone Complete Auto Care at 2269 Ford Pkwy, St Paul, MN 55116, USA, reachable at (651) 234-4842 or +1 651-234-4842, offers a comprehensive range of automotive repair and maintenance services as an "Auto Repair Station." While it benefits from the resources and standardized offerings of a national brand, customer feedback for this specific location highlights significant concerns regarding service efficiency, internal communication, staff responsiveness, and perceived issues with transparent pricing and upselling. Prospective customers should consider these reported experiences carefully when choosing this Firestone location for their automotive needs, particularly those who prioritize clear communication, reliable appointment adherence, and transparent billing practices.

Firestone Complete Auto Care Customer Reviews

Scheduled an appointment for 9 am this morning, left my keys in the drop, which was my only option since the door was locked and the guy in a Firestone shirt was unable to acknowledge my existence. Apparently, if you leave your keys in between 8:36 and 9, when they open, it’s your fault and your appointment gets skipped. I called at 10:45 to check on the status of the oil change, they said they hadn’t seen my car or keys. I clearly hid the car by parking it in the first spot in the lot. Also, I was told I probably incorrectly put my keys into the drop box. Again, my fault. They said they’d call back and let me know if they found the keys. They didn’t, probably also my fault. I later found out it was after repeated call back, discovering that if you drop you keys between whenever they check them and when they open, it’s the customer’s mistake. I finally called back and they let me know they should be able to get it in today, which is great, except I needed it this morning, as I said in the appointment, on my drop box card and on the phone. I was note in line newtons several other vehicles. Upon arriving to pick up my car, I realized these vehicles would take a lot of time since they were the workers on the other side of the wall busy conversing. I waited a minute looking for the keys before reaching across the unattended counter to returned them. I grabbed them and left, considered if I should cut up my store card and leaving it on the counter (I didn’t). I apologize for trying to give Firestone my business this morning. Clearly my mistake. It’ll never happen again. (Photo of my invisible car for reference).

I normally do not write reviews, but it is needed in this situation so someone else does not have my experience. As a young woman who does not know much about cars, I frequently get nervous when visiting an auto care facility because I feel as though I am likely to be taken advantage of. Unfortunately my worry was validated again today. I scheduled an appointment online for an oil change and filled out the info about my car there. I dropped my car off with no issues and waited in the lobby. When I was ready to pay, a charge of $92 appeared instead of the $30 I anticipated from looking online at the cost of a Standard Oil Change. The original man who checked in my car booked me for a Full Synthetic Oil Change without consulting me at all. He also was not apologetic in the slightest for the upcharge and made it seem like it was my fault for not giving more information about my car. The woman who was doing the payment process was the only positive of the situation, apologizing for the communication mix up and found an online coupon I could use to bring the cost down slightly. If only more people in this world were like her. I paid without a fuss since it was already done and to be honest I was a little flustered myself. While a $60 difference may not seem like much to some, for a broke college student just trying to get by that is a lot of money I was not willing to spend. $60 is my groceries for at least 2 weeks. I feel completely taken advantage of.

I brought my vehicle to this location in January for several issues, and because I had an extended warranty my vehicle was at the shop for 10 days. The day before I went to pick it up, I was contacted and told that while installing a part, the mechanic hit the windshield causing "spidering" on the glass. I asked how bad it was and they downplayed the damage, saying they didn't do windshield replacements, but they could give me a discount on the work. When I picked up the vehicle I asked to see the damage before paying. The crack was massive, and would require total replacement. They gave me $200 off their work. The only reason I accepted that amount is because I hadn't been able to get groceries for a week and a half, and desperately needed my car. I've called around to different shops and most windshield replacements will cost me about $400. I have to pay $200 out of pocket because of their incompetence. This place is a joke, wish I could give them a 0 rating.

I’ve been a customer of Firestone on Ford Parkway for over 20 years. I enjoy getting to know the people behind the desk ever since Alex took over. I’ve been very impressed with the communication and follow up that she demonstrates and I believe it is Taking hold with the other Employees that sit upfront. Great job putting Alex in charge of the Ford Parkway store!

They told me my brake repair was complete and I paid them $1800,00. When I drove home and used the brakes for the first time the brake pedal almost touched the floor. They obviously did not bleed the brakes or take it out for a test drive after the brake repair. I found a puddle of brake fluid on my garage floor. I brought the car back the next day and they finished the brake repair properly.
