Fineline Collision of Aurora, Inc. Introduce
Fineline Collision of Aurora, Inc., located at 735 N Highland Ave, Aurora, IL 60506, USA, functions as an Auto Repair Station primarily focused on auto body and collision repair services. They can be contacted at (630) 896-1837 or +1 630-896-1837. This establishment aims to assist vehicle owners in the Aurora area with their post-accident repair needs.
Based on customer reviews, the customer experience at Fineline Collision of Aurora, Inc. appears to be highly inconsistent and often challenging. While some specific positive aspects, such as the cleanliness of the car's interior after service, are mentioned, there are significant concerns regarding communication and the general atmosphere. Customers have reported extreme difficulty in reaching the shop by phone, sometimes requiring numerous calls to get a response. When contact is made, the conversations are described as short and, at times, rude. This lack of consistent and professional communication seems to be a major source of frustration for clients, leading to a feeling of being uninformed about their vehicle's status for extended periods.
Furthermore, concerns have been raised about the adherence to stated "open" hours, with customers reporting instances where no one was present at the shop during business hours for drop-offs or pick-ups, leading to wasted time and inconvenience. This suggests potential issues with reliability and customer-facing operations. The overall impression from customer feedback points to an environment that, while potentially having some polite individual staff members, struggles with consistent customer service and operational efficiency. The presence of personal items left in a vehicle and missing components post-repair also indicates a lack of attention to detail and professional handling of customer vehicles.
Fineline Collision of Aurora, Inc. positions itself as a comprehensive auto body and collision repair shop. Their stated services include a wide range of repairs and related offerings for various domestic and import vehicles. These services are typically handled through their status as a participant in various insurance company direct repair programs, aiming to streamline the repair process for customers involved in accidents. The services they offer are advertised as:
- Auto Body Repair: This is their primary service, focusing on restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition after collisions. This includes structural repairs, panel replacement, and general bodywork.
- Mechanical / Heavy Collision Repair: While they primarily handle bodywork, they also claim to assist with mechanical needs through affiliate vendors who are ASE Certified.
- Paintless Dent Removal (PDR): Offered for minor dents and dings, allowing for repairs without the need for repainting.
- Glass Repair / Glass Replacement: They can handle windshield and other auto glass repairs and replacements, aiming to be a one-stop shop for accident-related damages.
- Classic Car Restoration: Fineline Collision also offers restoration services for older vehicles, aiming to bring them back to showroom condition.
- Towing and Road Service: They provide 24/7 towing services for accidents or breakdowns, along with protective storage for vehicles.
- Insurance Claims Assistance: They work with over thirty national and international insurance companies, aiming to assist customers in negotiating repair costs and handling claims, simplifying the process for the vehicle owner.
- Free Estimates: Customers can get free evaluations for their repair needs.
- Additional Services: These may include bumper repair, frame straightening, addressing scratches, unibody work, moldings, full detailing, striping, A/C charging, and oil and filter changes.
Despite the breadth of services advertised, customer reviews raise serious concerns regarding the actual quality of work performed. Specific issues mentioned include broken mirrors, cup holders, and hood latches that were not related to the original accident, as well as untreated safety concerns like broken seatbelts. Furthermore, prolonged repair times (e.g., 5-6 months) and vehicles being left outside to rust, leading to additional damage like rusted brakes and paint issues, suggest significant lapses in the execution and care of vehicles in their custody.
Based on their stated information, Fineline Collision of Aurora, Inc. highlights several features:
- Insurance Company Direct Repair Program: This is designed to simplify the repair process for customers by directly handling negotiations with insurance companies.
- Comprehensive Customer Satisfaction Warranties: They claim to offer extensive warranties, though specific details on these are not readily available in public reviews.
- Strict Quality Control Inspections: They state that they have strict quality control measures in place, although customer feedback indicates issues with this aspect.
- Advanced Staff Training: They emphasize advanced training for their staff to ensure vehicles are in good hands.
- 24/7 Towing: Providing round-the-clock towing services for convenience.
However, customer experiences reveal significant discrepancies from these advertised features:
- Communication Problems: As extensively detailed, difficulty in reaching staff and rude/short conversations are major drawbacks.
- Unreliable Operating Hours: Customers reported arriving during stated business hours only to find the shop closed. Their listed hours are Monday-Friday: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Extended Repair Times: Vehicles reportedly spent several months in the shop with little to no communication about progress.
- Quality Control Concerns: Numerous instances of new damage or untreated pre-existing safety issues on vehicles upon return, directly contradicting their claim of strict quality control.
- Missing Items and Personal Property Issues: Reports of missing personal items and vehicle components (e.g., steering wheel cover, phone case) after service, along with leftover debris in the vehicle.
While specific promotional offers are not detailed in the provided information or common online reviews, collision repair shops typically offer:
- Free Estimates: Fineline Collision of Aurora, Inc. explicitly offers free evaluations for collision repair needs.
- Insurance Claim Assistance: Their participation in Direct Repair Programs with insurance companies acts as a promotional feature, aiming to alleviate the burden on customers.
- Warranties: They claim to offer comprehensive customer satisfaction warranties, which would be a promotional benefit if effectively honored.
Prospective customers seeking collision repair services should carefully consider the extensive negative feedback regarding communication, operational reliability, and the quality of work reported by past customers at Fineline Collision of Aurora, Inc. It is advisable to thoroughly research and potentially seek alternative options or obtain very clear, written agreements regarding timelines, communication protocols, and scope of work if choosing this facility.

Please, do not take your car here. This was the only shop my insurance would approve so I had to take it here. They are incredibly hard to get ahold of. Sometimes I would call 10 times in a row just to see if someone would pick up. Then, when you do get ahold of them the conversation is short and, frankly, rude. My car was in the shop for 4 months with very little communication. Only one of the two shop ladies is friendly and accommodating. That's the only reason for two stars, otherwise it would be one. I understand that they were in a battle with my insurance about where the find parts from, and that's not on them, but the communication was not great. Further, don't expect anyone to actually be there during their "open" hours. They open at 9:30, so I got there to drop off the insurance check. I took the morning off of work, waited until 10:30 and nobody showed. Completely wasted my time and money. Then, when the car was ready to pick up, I took the afternoon off of work, got there at 3 (they close at 4:30), again, nobody was there to give me my car. One of the shop guys was very friendly but didn't know what to do. So, again, I take the morning off of work and get my car. Oh boy, the treats in there left for me. There was a mostly eaten bag of cheerios in my center consol, my steering wheel cover is nowhere to be found, a phone case is missing, and they somehow managed to mess up my front headlight. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with it (there is light coming out of it but it's not extending out on to the road like my other one), but I am NOT taking it back there after this headache. Reason for two stars: the one office lady, and the fact they cleaned the inside of my car.

On Jan.30 i got into a small accident and my insurance took it here. horrible experience the front desk lady Yolanda has bad guest service, ignores calls when “annoyed” and has no idea of what’s going on. The work they do is just as bad, took way too long and now they avoid my calls to fix what they “forgot” or could not get around to. It took 5/6 months to finally get my car back and every-time i would call they were doing “inspections” so i thought the car was going to get back to me in good condition. boy was i wrong because i found broken stuff that wasn’t done by the accident , such as the broken mirror (how does that happen) , broken cup holder (again, how does that even happen?) and broken latch for the hood. on top of all that, huge safety concerns were left untreated as well, such as the broken seatbelts and they left my car outside to rust so i had to replace brakes and the paint on my car . i’m telling you , this place is a waste of space. please reconsider bringing your car here if able to and refuse their service . if i could i would give this place 0 stars ..

Top tier quality work done by mechanics with bottom tier customer service. As many report, the only reason we “chose” Fineline was because we were forced to by our insurance company. We had already got estimates from others, who said the repair should take about a week to finish–same with Fineline. Yet, they finished the job after 5 weeks of telling us it’ll be done the following Friday. Fortunately, Isabel was very friendly and did eventually begin to regularly stay in contact with us after we kept calling. However, either she was given wrong information or was being deceptive, because it took 5 weeks for them to finish the job. As a result, we had to shell out $1000+ in rental car fees. With the car back in our hands, they fixed the hood, roof, and windshield to make it look mostly new. Unfortunately, there are a good handful of new surface scratches. Tough to recommend based on the lack of urgency. As others said, they almost certainly wouldn’t still have business if they didn’t have this monopolistic MOU with our and other insurances.

I took my car in to these guys for some bodywork, the insurance took longer to get than expected (not Fineline’s fault) but as soon as it did come in the work was done immediately! Their attention to service was fantastic and my car looks great! I hope I don’t get into another accident but if I do I’ll bring it back to Fineline!

We have a 2018 4 runner that needed some body work, paint and scratch repair. Fineline did an excellent job of repairing all of it! The car looks brand new and it was very well done! Thank you so much! Also the owner and his wife were very nice and helpful!
