Elkins Park Auto Works Customer Reviews

Incompetent! Check everything this place touches. They are very resistant to giving an estimate. Prices are what they think the customer will pay. They get dirt in your car. Simple things are not simple. A state inspection is “not worth my time” Check the torque on each wheel lug before driving off if you can. I will never go back and everyone I know is told about how bad this place is. They should close and not put people at risk!

Larry was very helpful with my car, has a great dog in office at times, and is insightful around other car needs and issues.

I had my breaks give out while driving and ended up having to coast to Elkins Park Auto Works with little to no call-ahead. I had expected to pay an arm and a leg and to be without transportation for the better part of a week. But to my surprise, the car was fully repaired in less than 24 hours and the price came in about $100 under what I'd been expecting it to be. Larry was very helpful, quick, and explained to me in detail everything that would be done and every part that needed to be purchased before doing so. Very glad that this was the place I chose to bring my car to and highly recommend it for anyone.

I feel like I got Cheated out of my money by taking my car to Larry Weiss at Elkins park auto works. I went there with a electrical issue and he charged me for a vacuum test and a fuel pressure test that had nothing to do with my issue. I had my car towed into that shop and had my car towed out of the shop after they couldn't fix it but still charged me. I took Larry to small claims court and my mistake was filing the claim in Montgomery County. I should've filed the claim in Philadelphia civil court where Elkins park auto works don't have friends. I read other people's reviews about this shop having a problem with people of color and how they Cheated them. I only wish that I would have read those reviews before I made the mistake of taking my car there. I'm in the process of having my attorney help me with filing a appeal from what I believe is a erroneous decision by the district Court that was once across the street from this Auto Shop but moved in 117 old York road.

I accidentally hit a curb and SHREDDED my tire. I don't know the area well but Elkins Park Auto Works is right by me so I went there and I'm SO GLAD I did; I was panicking over choosing a place. It was a Thursday and I explained to the manager that I MUST have my car back by Saturday. He put air in the donut, ordered my tire immediately, and by noon Friday I was back home with a new tire! He even called me later to tell me I left my umbrella in the office, and noted two things I need to get taken care of on my invoice. Totally above and beyond service! I hope I don't need to come back for an emergency, but if I do I will be going here from now on, I won't even need to give it a second thought!
