I brought my car to this dealership expecting to pay around $600 for necessary maintenance under my warranty. Instead, I was blindsided with a $1,700 charge for services I did not authorize. When I tried to address the issue, I was met with unhelpful, dismissive, and outright rude service advisors who made it clear that this dealership cares more about squeezing money out of customers than providing honest service. To make matters worse, after paying an outrageous amount, my car still doesn’t run properly. If you are a young woman, I highly advise you to be extremely cautious before coming here. They take advantage of customers, push unnecessary repairs, and leave you with a massive bill for work you never approved. This dealership operates dishonestly, and I will be making sure others are aware of their shady business practices. Avoid Elgin Hyundai at all costs.

I recently chose to tow my car to Elgin Hyundai after the Gurnee dealership closer to my home proved to be dishonest and incapable for the last time. At Elgin Hyundai my car issue was immediately identified and corrected thanks to the knowledgeable lead mechanic, Dave Goebel. He suggested that I contact my auto insurance to help pay for the expensive issue he believed would be covered in my policy. Unfortunately, my auto insurance was operating in a shady and dishonest manner to try and deny my claim. I am incredibly grateful for the help of my service manager, Jim Hochberg who was persistent in his efforts to gather the evidence I needed to support my claim and fighting daily with my auto insurance adjusters for weeks that in the end, resulted in my claim being approved and my expensive repair being paid in full!! Jim Hochberg went above and beyond on my behalf and Dave Goebel once again was able to identify and solve my car issues that my other dealership proved incapable of correcting. For me, going forward, despite the distance from my home, Elgin Hyundai is the only place I will consider taking my car when it requires knowledgeable care and attention.

If I could NO STARS I WOULD! My SUV went in to be inspected. They KNEW from the time I was making my appointment I was beyond my warranty limit as they asked me for my mileage. They made the appointment anyway. I told them I had a slight leak in the value cover. This was told to me by the business that does my oil changes whom I have trusted for over 7 years with my personal vehicles and company vehicles. This service dept tried to RIP ME OFF..”FINDING SO MUCH MORE WRONG”. $1160 worth. That my suv had REALLY BAD leaks! Yet not 1 drop can be found on my driveway or at my business. I called the business I trust for my oil changes and explained what this dealership was saying. He told me to bring him my suv. . He went over it with a white glove…as I gave him the estimate of repairs from this dealerships paperwork. There was no other leaks as this service department claimed. My SUV WAS REPAIRED IN FULL FOR $297. How many more people have been ripped off? How many more women are taken advantage of? How much fraud has been submitted to the warranty companies? Hyundai dealership…his words…we have all your parts and can get this fixed immediately! I find it strange that they have a 2020 Jeep Cherokee parts in stock! Tell me this wasn’t planned! 😡 THEIR estimate vs a repair bill..$297 paid in full. Don’t trust this dealerships service department!
