E & J Auto Works Introduce

E & J Auto Works, situated at 244 Middle Island Rd #4, Medford, NY 11763, USA, operates within the diverse landscape of Auto Repair Stations. For local users in Medford, NY, this establishment can be contacted at (631) 732-3016 or via mobile at +1 631-732-3016. The business appears to have a varied history, with some online information suggesting a past as a performance and repair shop specializing in custom parts, particularly for rotary engines, alongside its more generalized "Auto Repair Stations" classification.

As an Auto Repair Station, E & J Auto Works would generally be expected to provide a range of vehicle maintenance and repair services. However, a crucial aspect of their current offering, as indicated by recent customer feedback, seems to be focused primarily on tow and storage services. This suggests that while they are classified under "Auto Repair Stations," their active and prominent services might cater more specifically to vehicles involved in accidents or those requiring temporary storage. In the context of an "Auto Repair Station," this could mean they act as an initial point of contact for distressed vehicles, coordinating with insurance companies for towing and then securing the vehicle in storage before potential repairs. Historical information available online indicates that E & J Autoworks was founded in 1996 as a "performance and repair shop" and later ventured into creating and designing their own performance parts, especially for rotary engines, using CNC machines. This suggests a past capability for complex engine work, custom fabrication, and high-performance vehicle tuning. While the most recent customer review emphasizes towing and storage, the historical context hints at a deeper, more specialized automotive background that might still inform some of their current or available services, even if less prominent now.

The environment at E & J Auto Works, based on the conflicting nature of recent and older reviews, presents a mixed picture. A recent review describes an environment where communication might be challenging, implying a preference for less direct interaction (e.g., "wants you to fax"). This customer's experience also suggests a focus on maximizing storage fees, which could indicate a less customer-friendly or transparent environment for those in urgent need of vehicle retrieval after an accident. This contrasts sharply with an older review (from five years prior) that described the shop as "great" and noted they "handled my insurance claim with no issues and storage was never an issue." This discrepancy could point to changes in management, operational focus, or simply highly variable customer experiences. An "old fashioned" approach, as mentioned in one review, might mean less reliance on modern digital communication and more on traditional methods. For a business handling accident-involved vehicles, the environment would typically need to be secure for storage, and potentially have a designated area for damaged vehicles, separate from any active repair bays if they still conduct those services. The overall impression depends heavily on which customer experience one prioritizes.

The services explicitly mentioned in recent customer feedback for E & J Auto Works are limited to tow and storage. This is a critical point, as it defines their primary direct services in the context of their "Auto Repair Stations" classification. For local users who have experienced a vehicle breakdown or accident, E & J Auto Works would serve as a facility to have their vehicle towed to and securely stored. The process might involve coordination with insurance companies for claims related to towing and storage fees. While not explicitly detailed in the recent review, the historical background of E & J Autoworks as a "performance and repair shop" from 1996, which even produced custom parts for rotary engines (exhaust and turbo flanges, 8-injector throttle bodies), suggests that their core capabilities, at least historically, extended far beyond just towing and storage. These past services would have included intricate engine building, performance tuning, and custom fabrication using advanced machinery like CNC and wire machines. It is possible that these specialized repair services are still available, perhaps for specific niche automotive enthusiasts, but they are not the highlighted services in the recent customer feedback. The discrepancy in service focus between their historical "About Us" information and recent customer reviews is noteworthy.

The features of E & J Auto Works, as gleaned from the provided information, are complex and subject to interpretation. One prominent feature, according to a recent negative review, is a purported strategy of maximizing storage fees from insurance companies, which the reviewer characterizes as "shameful." This suggests a business model that, at least in one customer's experience, prioritizes revenue from storage over swift vehicle release for repair, especially after an accident. The "wants you to fax" comment hints at a less technologically advanced or less customer-facing administrative process. However, an older review highlights a key positive feature: their ability to "handle my insurance claim with no issues," which indicates a capacity for professional interaction with insurance adjusters. This earlier feedback suggests a feature of smooth administrative processing for accident-related services. Historically, E & J Auto Works' features included expertise in performance tuning, especially for Honda Civics and rotary engines, and the capability for in-house manufacturing of specialized engine parts. If these capabilities still exist, they would represent a unique selling proposition for specific automotive enthusiasts, offering high-quality, custom solutions not found at a typical auto repair shop. The current features, however, appear to revolve more around post-accident logistics.

In terms of promotional information, E & J Auto Works has a somewhat ambiguous public image based on the provided reviews. The negative review, by explicitly warning others to "be weary," serves as a counter-promotion, urging caution due to perceived practices regarding storage fees and customer interaction. This kind of direct negative feedback can significantly impact a business's reputation and potential new client acquisition. Conversely, the older positive review ("This was a great shop back then") acts as a form of positive historical promotion, suggesting a past reputation for reliable service. For local users, the business's location at 244 Middle Island Rd #4, Medford, NY, is a geographic advantage, particularly for those in the immediate vicinity who might need towing and storage services. The fact that the business has been operational for a significant period (since 1996, according to their website) can also be seen as a promotional point, implying longevity and experience in the automotive field. However, without more consistent and recent positive feedback on their repair services, their primary "promotion" from recent customer experiences leans towards being a facility for vehicle towing and storage, particularly in accident scenarios. For potential clients, it is advisable to clarify the exact scope of services and fee structures, especially concerning storage, prior to engaging their services.

Be weary. Claims to be old fashioned yet wants you to fax?? Common practice I would guess so he doesn't have to see costumers face to face. Bottom line is that he wants to keep your car as long as possible to collect high priced storage fees from the insurance company. THAT'S SHAMEFUL! after folks get in an accident they obviously need their vehicle asap. Be warey of insurance companies who work hand and hand with people like this. After many many attemps through the adjuster I got the help I needed through a supervisor. FYI the only services here are tow and storage.

Last review from 5 years ago was phoney. This was a great shop back then. They handled my insurance claim with no issues and storage was never an issue.
