Dutch Treat Automotive Introduce

Dutch Treat Automotive, situated at 16024 Inglewood Ave, Lawndale, CA 90260, USA, functions as an established **Auto Repair Station**. This classification indicates its role in providing essential services and goods for vehicle maintenance and repair. What sets Dutch Treat Automotive apart is its clear specialization in **European vehicles**, with a notable reputation for servicing high-performance marques like Porsche. For local users in Lawndale and the surrounding South Bay area, it has historically served as a trusted independent option for specialized automotive care, offering an alternative to more costly dealership services.

As an **Auto Repair Station** with a focus on European automobiles, Dutch Treat Automotive is equipped to handle the unique mechanical and electronic complexities often associated with these vehicles. This requires specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and a deep understanding of European automotive engineering. The services offered go beyond general maintenance, delving into the intricacies of performance tuning, specific luxury features, and complex system diagnostics that are characteristic of brands such as Porsche. The business aims to provide dealership-level expertise and quality without the associated premium pricing, making specialized care more accessible to owners of these high-value vehicles.

Environment and Transition

The **environment** at Dutch Treat Automotive, as described by past customer experiences, has been one of professionalism and reliability. Prior to the recent change in ownership, the shop was praised for its "good experiences," "professional staff," and "reasonable pricing." This suggests a clean, organized, and technically capable workshop where specialized tasks could be performed. The transition in ownership, which occurred in October 2024 with Robert selling the shop, marks a new chapter for the establishment. While the core services are expected to remain, the customer experience under "new management" will naturally evolve. Customers are keen to "see how the new team operates," indicating a period of observation as the new management establishes its own reputation and operational style. Historically, the environment fostered trust and competence, making it a preferred choice for owners of demanding vehicles.

Services and Specialized Expertise

The **services** offered by Dutch Treat Automotive, particularly under its previous management and likely continuing under the new, are tailored to the needs of European vehicle owners. These include:

  • **Specialized European Vehicle Maintenance:** Performing routine services such as oil changes, fluid flushes, filter replacements, and scheduled inspections in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for brands like Porsche.
  • **Advanced Diagnostics:** Utilizing sophisticated diagnostic tools specific to European marques to accurately pinpoint issues, especially those related to complex electronic systems or performance irregularities.
  • **Performance Vehicle Repair:** Addressing mechanical and electrical repairs specific to high-performance cars, which often require unique parts and specialized installation procedures. This includes engine work, transmission services, and chassis repairs.
  • **Convertible Top Mechanism Repair:** A highlighted service, as exemplified by the customer who sought help for "intermittent issues with the convertible top" on a Porsche 997.2 C2S Cab. This demonstrates expertise in specialized components often found in luxury and sports cars. The fact that Marlon, a staff member, provided a "reset the top system and sent me on my way and didn't charge me" for a quick fix, speaks volumes about a customer-first approach and integrity in service.
  • **Pre-purchase Inspections:** For those looking to buy a used European vehicle, a specialized shop like Dutch Treat Automotive would typically offer thorough inspections to assess the vehicle's condition.
  • **General Repairs for European Models:** Beyond specific high-performance tasks, they would handle general repairs like brake services, suspension work, and electrical troubleshooting for European makes.
The phone numbers, (310) 793-2300 and +1 310-793-2300, provide direct contact for service inquiries and scheduling, which is crucial for clients with specialized vehicle needs.

Key Features

The historical **features** that have made Dutch Treat Automotive a respected name, and which the new management will likely strive to maintain, include:

  • **Porsche Specialization and Expertise:** The repeated mention of Porsche (911, 997.2 C2S Cab) in reviews highlights a strong proficiency and comfort with servicing these specific high-end vehicles. This specialization attracts owners who require expert knowledge beyond what general mechanics might offer.
  • **Professional Staff:** The consistent praise for "professional staff" indicates a team that is not only skilled but also conducts themselves with courtesy and efficiency, contributing to a positive customer experience.
  • **Reasonable Pricing (Dealership Alternative):** A major draw for customers of luxury vehicles is the "reasonable pricing," which is a "bargain compared to the Porsche dealership." This provides a compelling value proposition, offering specialized service quality at a more accessible cost.
  • **Integrity and Customer Focus:** The instance where Marlon provided a quick fix without charge for a convertible top issue demonstrates a high level of integrity and a genuine focus on helping the customer, rather than simply maximizing profit. This builds immense goodwill and trust.
  • **Reliable Service:** The "only good experiences" comment suggests a consistent track record of reliable diagnoses and effective repairs under previous management. Maintaining this reliability will be key for the new team.
These features collectively established Dutch Treat Automotive as a trusted and highly recommended independent service center for European cars, particularly Porsche.

Promotional Information and Future Outlook

While no explicit promotional campaigns are provided, the strong positive reviews under the previous management served as the most powerful **promotional information**. The "10/10, would recommend" endorsement and the specific positive experience with Marlon highlight the value propositions of excellent service, honesty, and fair pricing. For the new management, leveraging this existing positive reputation will be crucial. They will need to ensure that the standards of "professional staff" and "reasonable pricing" are maintained, or even improved, to retain the loyalty of long-term customers and attract new ones. Updates regarding the transition, such as the October 2024 note, are important for managing customer expectations and demonstrating transparency. Building on the established trust and continuing to offer expert European car service at competitive rates will be key to their ongoing success. Direct communication via phone will also remain essential for initial inquiries and service scheduling.

In conclusion, Dutch Treat Automotive at 16024 Inglewood Ave, Lawndale, CA 90260, USA, is an **Auto Repair Station** historically renowned for its specialized expertise in servicing **European vehicles, especially Porsche**. While currently operating under new management as of October 2024, its legacy is built upon professional staff, reasonable pricing (offering a significant cost advantage over dealerships), and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, as evidenced by positive past reviews highlighting specific successful repairs and acts of goodwill. For owners of European cars in the Lawndale area seeking expert, reliable, and fairly priced automotive care, Dutch Treat Automotive remains a destination worth considering, with the understanding that its new leadership is now shaping its future service delivery.

Dutch Treat Automotive Customer Reviews

[Update Oct 2024] Robert has sold the shop and it is under new management. I’ll see how the new team operates. [Based on previous management] These guys are awesome! I’ve been taking my 911 here since its warranty expired a few years ago. Only good experiences, professional staff and reasonable pricing (a bargain compared to the Porsche dealership). 10/10, would recommend.

Went in today to see Marlon for my 997.2 C2S Cab that was having intermittent issues with the convertible top. Marlon was very friendly, watched and checked the top mechanism, and explained a few things to look out for, he also spent a few minutes to reset the top system and sent me on my way and didn't charge me. I would go back here.

My husband had been taking his ‘86 Porsche Carrera 911 to Robert for years and was very pleased with his work. My husband knew that Robert sold Dutch Treat to someone else and had his Porsche towed there a few days ago thinking the person would be just as good as Robert. MISTAKE!!!!! He charged me $1100.00 for sensors and the car has never run so poorly since I’ve had it. It craps out every time I come to a stop. That means I have to restart my car which is bull———-. I would need a new starter for my car. So I will not be recommending Dutch Treat to anyone in the future. Robert is sorely missed with his HONESTY and CONCERN for his clients.

My ‘67 912 has been under Robert’s watch for the last 5 years. Now that Robert has retired, Marlon has taken the shop over. Marlon too is very capable. Highly recommend.

If you're bringing your ride to anyone else, good luck. Dutch Treat and Rob are unquestionably the best on the planet for your Porsche Mtx needs. Over the 10+ years, Dutch Treat has fully serviced 996, 955, 958 and even two VW Tourigs. Knowledgable, professional, and excellent - and fair. It's peace of mind and asset protection. Thank you for all that you do!!!
