Diehl Auto Repair Introduce

Diehl Auto Repair is an automotive service establishment located at 693 Addison Rd, Addison, IL 60101, USA. Operating within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, this business aims to provide various vehicle maintenance and repair services. For direct communication, Diehl Auto Repair can be reached via phone at (630) 833-2590 or mobile at +1 630-833-2590.

As an "Auto Repair Station," Diehl Auto Repair would typically offer a range of services encompassing diagnostics, general maintenance, and repairs for various vehicle systems. Based on the provided customer reviews, the services primarily discussed relate to **diagnosing and addressing "check engine" lights** and related issues such as those involving **catalytic converters and oxygen sensors**. One customer's experience highlights a diagnostic charge for an inspection. Another customer's repeated visits for an unresolved issue suggest the shop performs general troubleshooting and repair attempts for complex car problems, as they were trying to get their car "fixed." In a typical auto repair station, services generally extend to routine maintenance like **oil changes, brake service, tire rotation, fluid flushes, tune-ups, and more complex repairs such as engine diagnostics, transmission work, suspension repairs, and electrical system troubleshooting.** However, the provided reviews do not offer a positive overview of successful repair outcomes for these complex issues at Diehl Auto Repair.

The **environment** at Diehl Auto Repair, as described by the provided customer reviews, raises significant concerns regarding trust, communication, and overall customer satisfaction. One reviewer explicitly labels the place a "scam" and advises others to "RUN!" This strongly suggests an environment where customers might feel exploited or misled. The interaction with "Ugo," the front desk guy, is described as leading to an expensive diagnosis ($152.85) and a quote for a costly repair (two catalytic converters for $3300) that the customer later found unnecessary through personal research and a simple, inexpensive solution. This points to an environment where transparency and honest assessment might be lacking. The second review reinforces this negative perception, describing a car that was brought in "four or five times" but is "still not fixed," despite repeated attempts. This implies an environment of inefficiency, unresolved issues, and potential incompetence in accurately diagnosing and repairing problems. The customer's frustration about needing the car for work and it "dying on me everytime I drive" paints a picture of a highly unreliable service environment that negatively impacts customers' daily lives and trust in the repair process.

The **features** of Diehl Auto Repair, as perceived through the negative customer experiences, include several critical issues.

First, **diagnostic inaccuracy and overcharging** are significant alleged features. Customers report being given diagnoses that are either incorrect or unnecessarily expensive, leading to high quotes for repairs that may not be needed. This is exemplified by the P0430 and P0420 codes leading to a $3300 catalytic converter quote when a $27.99 liquid cleaner resolved the issue for one customer.

Second, **ineffective repairs and repeated failures** are highlighted. One customer's car remained unfixed after "four or five times" at the shop, indicating a severe lack of effective problem resolution and a failure to address the root cause of issues, leading to ongoing vehicle problems.

Third, **high pricing and lack of value** are noted. The large sums quoted for repairs that either proved unnecessary or ineffective demonstrate a poor value proposition for customers.

Fourth, **questionable trustworthiness and honesty** are central themes. Both reviews explicitly use strong negative language, such as "scammed," "dishonest shop," "liar & cheat," and "unprofessional," severely undermining any perception of integrity.

Finally, **poor communication and customer support** are implied by the unresolved issues and the customer's exasperation, suggesting a lack of follow-through or empathy in addressing client concerns effectively.

Regarding **promotional information**, based solely on the provided negative reviews, it is extremely challenging to discuss any positive promotional aspects of Diehl Auto Repair. Businesses typically promote features like reliability, expertise, fair pricing, and customer satisfaction. However, the available information directly contradicts these positive attributes.

If Diehl Auto Repair were to promote itself, it would need to address the serious allegations of dishonesty and ineffective repairs. Without positive testimonials, any promotional claims about quality, trustworthiness, or value would be difficult to substantiate based on the provided data.

In general, auto repair shops might promote:

  • **Diagnostic Capabilities:** Emphasizing their tools and expertise to accurately identify vehicle problems.
  • **Range of Services:** Listing various repairs and maintenance they perform.
  • **Experienced Technicians:** Highlighting certified or skilled mechanics.
  • **Competitive Pricing:** Advertising affordable rates or special offers.
  • **Customer Service:** Focusing on friendly staff and transparent communication.

However, the current public perception, as indicated by these reviews, is severely negative. For Diehl Auto Repair to effectively promote itself, it would first need to undertake significant internal improvements in repair quality, diagnostic accuracy, customer service, and business ethics. Any future promotional efforts would then need to be carefully crafted to rebuild trust and demonstrate a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction, potentially starting with addressing and resolving past customer complaints, offering guarantees on work, and providing clear, detailed explanations for all services and costs before work commences. As it stands, the information strongly suggests that customers would be well-advised to seek services elsewhere, as implied by the repeated warnings to "RUN!" from dissatisfied patrons.

Diehl Auto Repair Customer Reviews

I got scammed at Diehl Auto Repair at Addison, Illinois. My 2009 Honda Pilot with 176,400 Miles had an check Engine light came on while driving in middle of the night going home. The next Morning I set up an appointment with Diehl Auto Repair @ 9 O'clock AM . I talked to front desk guy name Ugo. I explained to Ugo the check Engine light and I used my scan tool OBD II the code says P0430 and P0420. I check the code on Google and it's saying dirty oxygen sensor located after the catilatic converter. He said the shop is very busy now but I will have the machine take a look and let you know.you have to leave the car hear. I will let you know the results of inspection. The charge for the inspection is 152.85. The Pilot is my Life line to go to work and back. I left the truck there for inspection. I was told expect a phone call after complete inspection. I asked what times you will call me for after inspection. Ugo says the shop closes @ 5:30 PM. I called the shop @ 3:15 PM. The guy Ugo says. Both catilatic converter which will cost me 3300.for the job. I told him give me an estimate and I am coming to pick up the truck. I got home and went online to you tube and did some research and fix my Pilot check Engine light with 27.99 dollar with caticlean liquid which bought from Walmart and pore it in my glass tank drove to and home from work. The checks engine light disappear. Thank God for you tube. Please! Educate your self regarding car or truck. These Repair shop will scam you. I only lost 152.85 Dollars. Lesson learned. Don't go to these dishonest shop RUN!.

I went here to get my car fixed and it's still not fixed. I am having such a problem now. It's not my catalytic converter. They want to charge me over 2k to fix it. I know what's wrong. My car has been here four or five times. I need this car to go to work and home. I can't have it dying on me everytime I drive. My car should have been fixed the first time. I have a 2018 kia.

After two visits in 3 months for two different cars I can say that these guys are one of the best auto shops in the area. I've dealt with both George and Victor and they're very professional and courteous. They explain the process, give detailed updates and upfront about the costs. Like any other shop they do find other things that might need your attention but don't push you to get it fixed right away (unless it needs to be fixed right away). The repair costs were reasonable and their coupons in the mail and on their website do come handy. This place is a welcome addition to the area.

Great service! Quality work for a reasonable cost! Transparent and did some small extra things without charge, you could tell they’re customer focused. Would definitely come back and have already recommended this place to others
