D & M Auto Body Introduce

Located at 414 Chico St, Bakersfield, CA 93305, USA, D & M Auto Body operates within the Auto Repair Stations category, focusing on vehicle bodywork and paint services. As a local establishment, it aims to provide solutions for common automotive damages, ranging from specific mechanical issues related to body components to more extensive paint and finish requirements.

Environment and Operations

While the specific ambiance of D & M Auto Body's facility is not detailed in the provided information, typical auto body shops maintain a practical and functional environment. This generally includes a reception area for customer intake and consultation, a dedicated workshop space equipped for various body repair tasks, and potentially a paint booth for specialized finishing work. The nature of auto body repair necessitates a workspace that can accommodate vehicles of different sizes and provide access to the tools and machinery required for dent removal, panel repair, and painting. The proximity to D'Angelo's Paint, as mentioned in a review, suggests a potential collaborative or convenient relationship for paint material sourcing, which is common in the auto body industry.

Services Offered

D & M Auto Body primarily offers services related to the exterior and structural integrity of vehicles. Based on the customer reviews, their services include:

  • Door and Window Issues: One customer noted they quickly found and fixed problems related to their car's doors and windows, indicating proficiency in addressing specific mechanical or alignment issues that affect these components.
  • Sanding, Priming, and Painting: A customer sought their services for "finish the fine sanding, shoot the primer & shoot the paint" on their vehicle. This suggests they undertake various stages of the auto painting process, from surface preparation to the final coat.

These services align with the typical offerings of an auto body shop, which aims to restore a vehicle's appearance and functionality after damage, whether from an accident, wear and tear, or other factors.

Features and Customer Experiences

Customer experiences with D & M Auto Body present a mixed picture, highlighting both positive and challenging aspects of their service delivery. One customer expressed satisfaction, stating, "They are taking care of me," and noting that issues with their "door and window" were "quickly found the problem and got it fixed." This suggests efficiency and competence in addressing specific, localized repair needs.

However, another review details a significantly negative experience, revolving around the quality of a paint job. The customer sought services for fine sanding, priming, and painting. The issue arose "about a week later" when "sanding marks start to come through the paint." This points to a potential problem with surface preparation, a critical step in achieving a durable and smooth paint finish. The interaction following this issue also provides insight into the shop's customer service and accountability. When confronted, D & M Auto Body's reply, "it's the paint you bought, It was cheap," contrasted sharply with D'Angelo's Paint's assessment that "That's the painter's fault, not the paint itself. D & M didn't prep the surface at all." The shop's subsequent dismissal of the customer's concerns, stating, "They don't know what they're talking about. That's a good job. You should have no complaints with the job we did," indicates a challenge in resolving customer dissatisfaction and acknowledging potential shortcomings in their workmanship.

This stark contrast in customer experiences highlights the importance of thorough communication and setting clear expectations with any auto repair service. For potential customers, understanding the scope of work and ensuring clarity on responsibilities for materials and labor can be crucial.

Promotional Information and Considerations for Local Users

The provided information does not include any specific promotional offers or advertising details from D & M Auto Body. For local auto repair stations, promotion often relies heavily on:

  • Word-of-Mouth Referrals: Positive experiences can generate strong recommendations within the community, as seen with the initial recommendation of D & M by D'Angelo's Paint.
  • Location and Accessibility: Being situated on Chico St in Bakersfield makes them accessible to local residents.
  • Competitive Pricing: While not explicitly mentioned, competitive pricing is often a factor for local independent shops.
  • Direct Communication: Customers typically contact such shops directly for estimates and service inquiries.

Given the mixed reviews, local users considering D & M Auto Body for their vehicle's needs should engage in thorough due diligence. It is advisable to directly contact them at (661) 323-0603 or +1 661-323-0603 to discuss specific repair requirements, obtain a detailed written estimate, and inquire about their process, especially concerning paint preparation and warranty on their work. As with any significant auto repair, clear communication and, if necessary, seeking multiple quotes, can help ensure a satisfactory outcome.

D & M Auto Body Customer Reviews

They are taking care of me. Had some door and window issues. And they quickly found the problem and got it fixed for me.

I can only go as low as 1 star. You can't have 0 stars for this post. This place was recommended by D'Angelo's paint (next door ). All I wanted D & M to do was finish the fine sanding, shoot the primer & shoot the paint. Apparently these idiots don't own a sander. D & M called and said my car was ready to pick up. When I picked up my car, It looked pretty good. Then about a week later you could see my sanding marks start to come through the paint. I drove the car back to them asking " what happened?" D & M's reply was "it's the paint you bought, It was cheap." I went next door to D'Angelo's paint and told them the problem I was having and there response was " That's the painter's fault, not the paint itself. D & M didn't prep the surface at all". So I went back to D & M and told them what D'Angelo's said. Their response was " They don't know what they're talking about. That's a good job. You should have no complaints with the job we did." Hence, this post. If you want a poor job done. By all means, take it to Dumbshit & Meathead Auto Body. As for me, Earl Schieb would have been a better choice. Be Careful
