Cummins Sales and Service Introduce

For owners of diesel engines, power generation equipment, and especially recreational vehicles (RVs), Cummins Sales and Service, operating as Cummins Power South in Tampa, FL, is a significant entity within the "Auto Repair Stations" category. Situated at 5910 E Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33610, USA, this facility is designed to cater to a specialized segment of the automotive and power generation market. They can be contacted by phone at (813) 626-1101, which also serves as their mobile contact number, facilitating communication for a diverse range of service needs.

The environment of Cummins Sales and Service, as a factory-authorized sales and service center, is typically structured to handle heavy-duty equipment and intricate power systems. While explicit details about the aesthetics of their waiting area or the size of their service bays are not provided in the given information, a facility of this nature is expected to be extensive and well-equipped. This includes specialized diagnostic tools specific to Cummins engines and generators, heavy-duty lifts and equipment for large vehicles, and a comprehensive inventory of genuine Cummins parts. The operational environment would likely be highly technical and focused on precision, given the complexity of the machinery they service. The professional nature of their work often means a functional, clean, and organized workshop, designed for efficiency and safety. As a part of a global network, their physical space generally adheres to corporate standards, ensuring consistency in service delivery and technical capabilities.

As an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in Cummins products, their range of services is highly specific yet comprehensive for their target market. Cummins Sales and Service in Tampa offers expert diesel engine repair and maintenance, catering to various applications including trucking, marine, transit, construction, refuse, and RV industries. They also specialize in natural gas engine repair and maintenance. A key service is their power generation support, involving the sales, service, and preventative maintenance of generators, such as the 12.5k Onan generator mentioned in a positive review. They carry an extensive inventory of Genuine Cummins Parts, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity and performance of Cummins equipment. Furthermore, Cummins Power South – Tampa is a certified Cummins Coach Care facility, indicating their capability to provide bumper-to-bumper RV service. This includes not only engine and generator service but also chassis work, general maintenance, and even appliance repairs for motor homes. Their service model emphasizes a global QuickServe process, which aims for personalized service, fast response and diagnosis, precise answers, high-quality repairs, and ongoing communication. They also offer mobile QuickServe and have an after-hours and weekend answering service, indicating a commitment to responsive support for their critical customer base.

Several features distinguish Cummins Sales and Service in Tampa. Firstly, their specialization in Cummins engines and generators provides a level of expertise and access to proprietary knowledge and parts that general repair shops cannot match. This is particularly valuable for complex diagnostics and repairs. The availability of "Genuine Cummins Parts" is a significant feature, ensuring that repairs are performed with components designed specifically for the equipment, which can impact longevity and performance. The positive review highlights their efficiency and ability to fulfill critical parts orders, even under time constraints such as ordering a part on a Wednesday before Thanksgiving and receiving it by Friday for a Sunday departure. This demonstrates a robust logistics and inventory management system, crucial for minimizing downtime for commercial operators and travelers. The "reasonable" fee for overnight shipping and the part itself also suggest a fair pricing structure for specialized services. The "QuickServe" process is a structured feature designed to streamline the repair experience, promising personalized service and continuous communication throughout the repair cycle. Furthermore, their status as a "certified RV Coach Care facility" is a distinct feature for RV owners, offering comprehensive service beyond just the engine or generator, covering the entire motorhome.

However, it is important to provide a balanced view based on all available information. While the positive review highlights efficiency and excellent parts service, the negative review brings to light significant concerns. The inability for customers to reach someone locally by phone, instead being routed to a remote message service, can be a point of frustration and perceived lack of responsiveness. More critically, the negative experience describes a situation where a recall service allegedly led to further problems with a generator, resulting in a potentially dangerous situation (generator stopping, high temperature, risk to a pet). This raises questions about the quality of certain repair outcomes and the follow-up process. The comment "it's never been right since then" suggests a lack of permanent resolution, and the sentiment "I have nothing good to say about Cummings Sales and Service in Tampa Fl" indicates a significant negative customer experience regarding repair effectiveness and potentially accountability. These mixed reviews present a complex picture, where some customers experience prompt and effective service for parts, while others report severe issues with repair quality and communication.

Regarding promotional information, no specific promotional offers or discounts are detailed in the provided customer reviews. However, as a large, corporate-backed "Auto Repair Station," Cummins Sales and Service (Cummins Power South) typically engages in various forms of promotion within its specialized markets. This could include offering planned maintenance programs for generators, service contracts for commercial fleets, or special deals on genuine Cummins parts during certain periods. They might also promote their "QuickServe" efficiency or their 24/7 emergency roadside service as value propositions, particularly for commercial clients who prioritize minimal downtime. For RV owners, promotions might include seasonal checks or packages for generator maintenance. Customers interested in their services, especially for large-scale or long-term needs, are advised to directly contact them via their phone numbers or visit their official website (often under Cummins Power South) to inquire about any current service packages, parts specials, or fleet maintenance agreements that might be available. Given the nature of their business, which involves high-value parts and specialized labor, promotions often focus on overall value and comprehensive service plans rather than simple discounts.

In conclusion, Cummins Sales and Service in Tampa, FL, serves as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" primarily for Cummins diesel engines, natural gas engines, and power generation equipment, including extensive RV Coach Care services. Their strengths lie in their specialized expertise, access to genuine parts, and structured service processes like QuickServe, which can facilitate prompt and efficient parts delivery. However, objective analysis of customer feedback reveals a dichotomy, with positive experiences regarding parts availability and reasonable pricing contrasting sharply with severe concerns over repair effectiveness and responsiveness for other service areas. For local users, particularly those with Cummins-powered vehicles or generators, contacting them directly and clarifying expectations and past performance for specific service types would be a prudent approach.

Cummins Sales and Service Customer Reviews

Cummins sales and service Tampa overnighted a critical part which was needed for our 12.5k onan generator. We are traveling and Thanksgiving was on Thursday. The part was ordered Wednesday and came in today, Friday. We leave Sunday. The fee to overnight was reasonable as well as the part was reasonable. Thanks guys and girls.

can't recommend! no one answers phone locally, some one remote takes your message. I had a recall and it's never been right since then. I stopped at a restaurant and left the generator running, for the dog. I stayed with it for 5 minutes and then went to eat, it stopped and the temperature was 104 Degas. Almost killed my dog. I have nothing good to stay about Cummings Sales and Service in Tampa Fl.

This no waiting sign is an insult. I dropped off RV to check my generator. It was there for 4 1/2 weeks. No one answered phone calls or messages looking for update. I had to drive an hour just to talk with someone. I was then told they might be able to look at it in a week. I took my RV back. Oh yes. Even though I called to ask for them to turn off house batteries when RV returned to me batteries were on and dead. Attendant totally unaware drove the RV with steps extended. I had to wait for a charge. So very disappointed for lack of customer care. Avoid avoid avoid!

Highly recommend. They were able to start the work earlier than my appointment time as I arrived early. The service advisors (especially Tyler) were courteous and knowledgeable and kept me informed through the whole process. I was in and out in 2 hours with my RV generator working great!
