Car Pros TN Introduce

For individuals in Johnson City, Tennessee, seeking automotive repair services, Car Pros TN, located at 1109 S Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601, presents itself as an option within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. They can be contacted at (423) 929-7001 or via mobile at +1 423-929-7001. However, potential customers should be aware that the available online feedback for Car Pros TN is starkly divided, presenting a very mixed picture of their service quality and customer interactions.

Environment and Operational Practices

The operational environment of Car Pros TN, as inferred from the reviews, appears to be a standard auto repair shop capable of handling significant mechanical work, specifically transmission replacements. The conflicting nature of the reviews makes it challenging to objectively describe a consistent environment or set of operational practices. On one hand, a positive review describes the service as "done in an EXTREMELY professional way," suggesting an organized and efficient workspace where repairs are completed with high standards. On the other hand, severe negative feedback indicates practices such as "zip tied stuff together and left things unbolted," which points to a disorganized or unprofessional approach to repairs. The claims of constant communication discrepancies and avoidance of calls further complicate the picture of their operational environment, suggesting a lack of transparency and consistent communication, at least in some instances. Ideally, an auto repair station should provide a clear, communicative, and competent environment, but the provided reviews paint a varied and inconsistent reality for Car Pros TN.

Services Offered

As an "Auto Repair Station," Car Pros TN ostensibly offers a range of vehicle repair and maintenance services. The reviews specifically highlight their involvement in **transmission repair and replacement**. One detailed negative review mentions a "refurbished transmission" installation, indicating that they handle significant powertrain work. Beyond this, a general "auto repair" designation implies they may offer other common services such as:

  • **Engine Diagnostics and Repair:** Troubleshooting and fixing issues related to a vehicle's engine.
  • **Brake System Services:** Repair or replacement of brake pads, rotors, and other braking components.
  • **Suspension and Steering Repairs:** Addressing issues with a vehicle's ride comfort and handling.
  • **General Maintenance:** Services like oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups.
  • **Sensor Replacement (e.g., O2 sensor):** Though contested in one review, this suggests they perform basic sensor diagnostics and replacement.

However, the focus of the intense customer feedback is heavily on transmission work, which appears to be a core, yet contentious, service offering. For local users, if considering Car Pros TN, it would be crucial to inquire specifically about their full range of services and any associated warranties.

Features and Customer Outcomes

The features of Car Pros TN are best understood by examining the sharp contrast in customer outcomes:

  • **Claims of Professionalism and Honesty (Positive Perspective):** One customer praises the "Honest and hard working man!!" and describes the service as "Very kind, professional, and done in an EXTREMELY professional way!" This suggests that, for some, the shop delivers on its promise of quality work and ethical conduct. The sentiment "I will ALWAYS take my car to Car Pro's and have it fixed" indicates a high level of trust and satisfaction, pointing to features like reliability and positive interpersonal interactions.
  • **Allegations of Dishonesty, Unresolved Issues, and Warranty Disregard (Negative Perspective):** Conversely, multiple negative reviews present severe allegations. Key problematic features include:
    • **Failed Repairs:** A transmission replacement purportedly failed almost immediately, with the car remaining "un drivable."
    • **Unfulfilled Promises:** Claims of components like O2 sensors not being installed despite being cited as necessary.
    • **Substandard Workmanship:** Explicit mention of "zip tied stuff together and left things unbolted," which suggests a lack of thoroughness or proper procedure.
    • **Dishonesty and Misleading Communication:** Repeated accusations of the mechanic being "not honest," telling "something different," and sending the car "knowing it still had problems."
    • **Avoidance and Lack of Accountability:** Allegations of the owner avoiding calls and refusing to "right his wrongs" or fix the transmission, despite a stated warranty.
    • **Financial Impact:** The customer suffered significant financial loss, paying "almost $1300" with their "every penny," only to have the vehicle remain broken.

These conflicting reports indicate that the features of Car Pros TN vary wildly depending on the customer's experience, ranging from highly satisfactory to severely problematic.

Promotional Information and Recommendations for Local Users

The available "promotional information" for Car Pros TN is derived entirely from its customer reviews, creating a complex narrative. The positive review serves as a strong endorsement, emphasizing qualities like honesty, professionalism, and effective repairs. If a customer were to only see this review, they would be inclined to believe Car Pros TN is a top-tier auto repair station that values its clientele and delivers exceptional service. This review positions the business as a reliable and trustworthy mechanic for repeat customers.

However, the overwhelmingly critical negative reviews present a stark counter-narrative. These highly detailed accounts of alleged dishonesty, failed repairs, and refusal to honor warranties would likely deter many potential customers. They serve as a cautionary tale, suggesting significant risks when entrusting a vehicle to Car Pros TN for major repairs, especially transmissions. The consistent themes of unresponsiveness and lack of accountability in the negative feedback are particularly damaging to a service-based business.

For local users in Johnson City, TN, seeking automotive repairs, especially for critical and costly components like transmissions, the objective recommendation based on the provided information is to proceed with extreme caution. Given the severity and consistency of the negative claims, particularly regarding failed repairs and alleged breaches of trust and warranty, it would be prudent to:

  • **Seek alternatives:** Explore other auto repair stations in the area with a more consistent and universally positive track record, especially for complex jobs.
  • **Conduct thorough due diligence:** If considering Car Pros TN, demand a written, detailed estimate, inquire about their warranty policies explicitly in writing, and clarify what constitutes acceptable performance for a repair.
  • **Consider payment protection:** If proceeding, explore payment methods that offer consumer protection in case of disputes.
  • **Document everything:** Keep meticulous records of all communications, repair orders, payments, and any issues encountered.

Ultimately, the objective information suggests that while some customers have had positive experiences, the severe negative feedback concerning critical repairs, honesty, and accountability warrants significant apprehension for prospective clients.

I do not recommend coming here at all! Took my car in on Feb 26th to put a refurbished transmission in my car, had it for about 7 weeks, went in with a state program to help pay for repairs I paid almost $1300 took every penny I had, I was extremely patient with this man, he was not honest ever time I called he told me something different finally only thing needed to be done was apparently my O2 sensor, when I got my car home had another mechanic over look my car, transmission is still throwing a failure code and is still un drivable , also never put a O2 sensor in my car, zip tied stuff together and left things unbolted I’ve been trying to get back in touch to have it fixed and him to right his wrongs, he’s avoided mine and familes car, this man is not trustworthy and wouldn’t let him touch anything of mine again definitely should make it right or give my money back We’ve tried contacting multiple times he was not in fact told that we’d take care of them he was told to make it right and finish the car also he should’ve just been honest I told him upfront I didn’t have the money for this and if it wasn’t worth it he should’ve been honest with me and told me instead he’s taken all my money and has refused to answer our calls and fix the transmission which has a warranty on it. He sent me the car knowing it still had problems, the transmission still gave transmission failure do not trust this man one bit!!!!

TLDR: Best auto work prices in town by a LANDSLIDE - Friendliest owner you'll ever meet - No non-sense - 30 years of experience The long version: I recently went over 100k miles on my truck, which requires a timing belt kit change. I'd called around for quotes from the other guys - first offered it to me for just under $1,000. I called around some more and the other guys quoted me between $1,100-$1,400; two asked if they could call me back to give me an accurate quote, only one actually called back and quoted $1,400. Then I called the Car Pros. The owner immediately told me full-disclosure how much the kit was for retail price, and how much they would think is fair to charge for labor. The kit came out to around $160, and since this is understandably an intensive job that no average Jo-Schmo could do, the total came out to $602. I dropped the truck off on Saturday, took a picture of the quote, gave him the keys, and got a call on Monday saying it's good to go. Then I asked if he would mind changing the oil - very last second on my part, but he agreed regardless with no problem and did what I asked, only requesting to have the truck for one more day (totally fair). I come to pick up the truck, thank him sincerely, and we have a nice, wholesome discussion before we part ways. Absolutely incredible price/work ethic and he knows it. The owner is a very down-to-Earth, God-loving man operating some of the best practices business I've personally ever seen. Thank you so much for your help, and I'll be sure to come back if I'm having any other troubles with the truck - no other quotes necessary. :)

I spent thousands of dollars with this garage to get my car fixed starting with a new gas tank after I got my car back and went to gas it up gas ran out every where my car wasn't even drivable I returned it to the garage which charged me more money then my fuel system mysteriously became clogged I didn't even make it home after I got it back again so I took it back more money spent and once again they only tore it up worse I have pic's videos and documentation of everything I just said after I stopped taking my car there and I got.it fixed at another garage haven't had a problem since also done some fact checking on this garage and I can't find a single ASE certified mechanic that works there at all period very dishonest place.
