When considering an auto repair station, understanding the environment and the nature of services offered is crucial. While specific details about the physical environment of Blowing Smoke Diesel Repair LLC are not available online, auto repair stations typically consist of a workshop equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to diagnose and repair vehicles. This would likely include diagnostic tools, lifting equipment, and various specialized tools required for diesel engine and truck repairs. The scale of the operation is unclear from the provided information; however, as a limited liability company (LLC), it suggests a professional setup aimed at providing repair services.

The primary service offered by Blowing Smoke Diesel Repair LLC, as indicated by its name, is diesel repair. This encompasses a range of mechanical services specific to diesel engines, which differ in many aspects from gasoline engines. Based on the positive customer review, their services extend to clutch replacement and transmission work, even on complex systems like a 9-speed Eaton Fuller transmission mated to a Caterpillar 3176 engine in a Ford L9000 truck. The reviewer specifically mentioned the replacement of the clutch, throwout bearing, and all new gaskets on the transmission, highlighting their capability in handling significant mechanical repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

However, it is essential to consider the contrasting negative reviews also provided. One reviewer described their experience as the "worst so called mechanic" they had ever seen, criticizing the quality of work and deeming the hourly rate of $100 as overpriced. This individual suggested the mechanic was not competent and should pursue a different profession. Another review echoed these concerns, stating that work done on a family friend's truck resulted in further damage, implying a lack of skill or competence. This review also speculated that the lack of workload might be indicative of the quality of service.

The features of Blowing Smoke Diesel Repair LLC are somewhat mixed based on the available customer feedback. A significant positive feature, as highlighted by one customer, is the speed and efficiency of their service. The ability to diagnose and repair a major issue like a clutch failure in a large truck within a very short timeframe (from a Thursday afternoon call to pickup by Saturday evening) is commendable. This suggests a potential strength in responsiveness and turnaround time, at least in some instances. Furthermore, the willingness to take on a new customer with a significant repair without prior acquaintance indicates a degree of openness to new business.

On the other hand, the negative reviews point to potential significant drawbacks in terms of the quality of mechanical work and pricing. The strong criticisms regarding the competence of the mechanic and the resulting damage to a vehicle raise serious concerns about the reliability and expertise offered. The perception of being overpriced further compounds these negative experiences.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Blowing Smoke Diesel Repair LLC in the provided data. Auto repair shops sometimes offer promotions such as seasonal discounts, package deals for routine maintenance, or discounts on specific services. To learn about any potential ongoing promotions, it would be best to contact them directly via phone or visit their location.

In conclusion, Blowing Smoke Diesel Repair LLC is an auto repair station in Flemingsburg, KY, specializing in diesel and truck repair. While one customer reported a highly positive experience with rapid and comprehensive clutch and transmission repair, other reviews express significant dissatisfaction with the quality of work and pricing. These contrasting viewpoints make it challenging to provide a definitive objective assessment without further information or a larger sample of customer experiences. Local users considering Blowing Smoke Diesel Repair LLC should weigh these reviews carefully and potentially seek additional information or references before entrusting their vehicle to this service provider. It would be prudent to inquire about their specific expertise, certifications (if any), and warranty policies to make an informed decision.

Clutch went out on a Thursday around 4:00 pm called Derrick Watson same day. Took the truck to him Friday morning at 8 he called at 5:46 for me to head that way to pick it up. He replaced the clutch, throwout bearing, all new gaskets on transmission keep in mind it’s a 9 speed eaton fuller hooked to a 3176 cat in a ford l9000 I’m very pleased with how fast he took care of me on it without even knowing me he will have my future business from here on out.!

Worst so called mechanic I've ever seen, not even shade tree mechanic quality. Way over priced at 100hr. This guy needs to be flipping burgers at McDonald's. Blowing smoke is definitely correct because he's Blowing Smoke about being a mechanic. Work was done to a family friends truck and all the owner did was mess the truck up more. I guess a way to look at it is that if a mechanical isn't slammed with work,he probably isn't good. That was the case here.

Have been using Derrick for the past two years. Never have any issues he fix come back needing fixed or followed up again. He works with our schedule to keep our downtime to an absolute minimum. And his prices are beyond reasonable.
