Biggers Chevrolet Parts Introduce
Biggers Chevrolet Parts, located at 1385 E Chicago St, Elgin, IL 60120, USA, functions as a crucial component of the larger Biggers Chevrolet dealership, operating within the broad "Auto Repair Stations" category. While specifically named for "Parts," this establishment also encompasses a service department, providing a range of automotive maintenance and repair services. You can contact them at (866) 431-1555 or via mobile at +1 866-431-1555.
As a dealership-affiliated parts and service center, Biggers Chevrolet Parts primarily focuses on providing genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Chevrolet parts, ensuring that repairs and replacements are made with components specifically designed for Chevrolet vehicles. This often extends to offering service for other GM vehicles, and sometimes even non-GM brands, as is common with large dealership service centers. They facilitate the purchase and installation of these parts through their integrated service department, aiming to be a one-stop shop for Chevrolet owners in the Elgin area.
The environment at Biggers Chevrolet, as perceived through various customer reviews, presents a mixed picture. On one hand, the facility, being a dealership, typically offers a structured and professional setting, often equipped with amenities for customer comfort such as customer lounges, complimentary beverages, Wi-Fi, and sometimes even complimentary car washes or loaner vehicles, as indicated by online sources for Biggers Chevrolet's service center. The presence of a dedicated parts department implies an organized space for sourcing and managing automotive components.
However, customer experiences regarding efficiency and time management at this location have received critical feedback. One review states, "I’ve made appointments and arrived on time but if someone else without an appointment arrives before you, they take them in first. It’s so aggravating when you’re trying to do something before work. No point in making an appointment just show up. Here’s to being late for work for the second time they take over and hour, closer to two hours just for an oil change. Go somewhere else unless you have the time to spend hours here. Not worth it." This indicates potential issues with appointment scheduling, wait times, and overall service efficiency. Another review from a customer trying to sell their car highlights a significant time waste, "So frustrating to waste time, if you are going to low ball just be upfront about it and save everyone time. Again they contacted me then proceeded to waste 2.5 hours of our time, never again." This feedback suggests that while the physical environment may be typical of a dealership, the operational aspects and customer respect for time can be areas of concern for some patrons.
Conversely, other reviews for the broader Biggers Chevrolet dealership also show positive experiences, particularly regarding sales interactions and certain service experiences. This suggests that customer experience can vary, possibly depending on the specific department or individual staff members involved.
As a Chevrolet dealership, Biggers Chevrolet Parts and its associated service department offer a comprehensive range of automotive services and genuine parts. Their primary offerings include:
- Genuine OEM Chevrolet Parts: This is their core offering, providing authentic parts designed specifically for Chevrolet vehicles, which is crucial for maintaining warranty and vehicle performance. They also offer a way to order parts online.
- Routine Maintenance: Services like oil changes, tire rotations and balancing, filter replacements, fluid checks, and multi-point vehicle inspections. (However, note the customer review regarding extended wait times for oil changes).
- Complex Mechanical Repairs: Addressing engine issues, transmission repairs, brake system services, suspension work, and electrical diagnostics. Being a factory-certified service center, they are equipped to handle intricate repairs specific to Chevrolet models.
- Tire Sales and Service: Offering new tires and services such as mounting, balancing, and alignment. They may also offer competitive pricing or price matching.
- Battery Testing and Replacement: Providing comprehensive battery services.
- AC Service: Diagnosis and repair of vehicle climate control systems.
- Service Specials: Often, dealerships run various service coupons and special offers for routine maintenance and specific repairs.
- Body Shop Services: While not explicitly named "Biggers Chevrolet Parts & Body," many dealerships include body repair services for collision damage. Their website mentions having a body shop.
The focus on OEM parts provides an assurance of quality and compatibility, which is a significant advantage for Chevrolet owners seeking specific and reliable components for their vehicles.
Based on the provided reviews and general dealership characteristics, several features can be highlighted, along with areas of concern in customer interactions:
- OEM Parts Availability: A key feature is the availability of genuine Chevrolet parts, ensuring high-quality replacements and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Dealership Infrastructure: As part of a larger dealership, they typically have extensive facilities, specialized tools, and factory-trained technicians, which can be beneficial for complex repairs.
- Appointment System (with noted issues): While they offer an appointment system, the review indicates that walk-ins might be prioritized or that scheduled times are not consistently honored, leading to significant delays. This is a critical point of customer dissatisfaction.
- Transparency in Vehicle Sales/Trade-ins (with noted issues): The experience of the customer attempting to sell their car highlights a discrepancy between initially discussed prices and the final offer after inspection. This indicates a potential lack of upfront transparency in certain financial dealings, leading to wasted time and frustration for the customer.
- Customer Service Variability: The reviews suggest a variability in customer service experience. While some dealership reviews praise their service, the provided snippets specifically point to negative experiences related to waiting times and honesty in pricing for vehicle trade-ins. This highlights a need for consistent service quality across all customer touchpoints.
The discrepancy between initial expectations and actual service delivery, particularly concerning appointment adherence and pricing, appears to be a significant feature of customer interaction at this location, leading to frustration for some patrons.
Biggers Chevrolet, as a larger dealership, frequently engages in various promotional activities across its sales, service, and parts departments. These can include:
- Service Specials: Common offerings include discounted oil changes, tire deals (e.g., "Buy 3, get 1 for $1"), battery rebates, and discounts on brake pad installations. Their website indicates current service coupons for various maintenance items.
- Parts Specials: Promotions on specific OEM parts or accessories.
- New and Used Vehicle Promotions: As a dealership, they consistently advertise deals on new Chevrolet models and their extensive inventory of used cars.
- Dealership Amenities: Features like complimentary car washes with service, shuttle service, and available loaner vehicles (for certain services) act as value-added promotions.
For the local community in Elgin, IL, Biggers Chevrolet Parts and Service can serve as a convenient option for Chevrolet owners seeking genuine parts and specialized service. The dealership's overall presence contributes to the local economy and provides employment opportunities. However, the value derived by individual customers is highly dependent on their personal experience, particularly concerning the efficiency of service and the perceived transparency in dealings. While they offer the necessary infrastructure and parts for vehicle care, the reported issues with scheduling and honesty in certain transactions suggest that customers should approach with clear expectations and potentially confirm details upfront to mitigate frustration.
In conclusion, Biggers Chevrolet Parts, located at 1385 E Chicago St, Elgin, IL, is an integral part of the Biggers Chevrolet dealership, operating as an "Auto Repair Station" that supplies genuine OEM parts and provides a range of automotive services. While offering the benefits of a large dealership network, including access to specialized parts and trained technicians, customer reviews indicate that efficiency, adherence to appointments, and transparency in some financial dealings can be areas of concern for patrons. For those in Elgin seeking specific Chevrolet parts or factory-certified service, it's advisable to factor in these varied customer experiences when planning their visit.

Second and last time I schedule service for my car here. I’ve made appointments and arrived on time but if someone else without an appointment arrives before you, they take them in first. Here’s to being late for work for the second time they take over and hour, closer to two hours just for an oil change. Go somewhere else unless you have the time to spend hours here. Not worth it.

They reached out to me to buy my car I had listed for sale. We texted back and forth for a while and they agreed to a price if the car is in the condition stated in the ad. Get there they do an inspection, car is in condition stated but they offer almost 20% less than we had discussed. So frustrating to waste time, if you are going to low ball just be upfront about it and save everyone time. Again they contacted me then proceeded to waste 2.5 hours of our time, never again.

They are not what they seem! I was told by Alice Davis when I set up an appointment to see her and a specific vehicle and I quote "I have set some time aside to make sure that your buying experience is Fast, Fun and Friendly. We'll have your Equinox prepped and ready for immediate delivery." When I got there 10 minutes before my 9am appointment, the Equinox was right out front, except it was filthy. I was then told that Alice does internet sales and that she isn't the one meeting us, it was another salesman named Jeff. Once they washed it and gave us the key to test drive it , we opened the doors and the interior was loaded with pet hair, mud on the seats and glue remnants on the dashboard from the previous owner. This vehicle was never prepped or serviced prior to us coming in. I then pulled up the photos of this vehicle from the Biggers website and I can plainly see that they were not from the one I'm looking at now. They were stock photos. I was also told by Alice that Biggers Chevrolet always gives a higher trade in allowance than other dealers , even after I told her that the Carfax will show our trade in had an accident recently. That also was not the case! Biggers offered me less than two other Chevy dealers that we visited prior by over $500. We did find another Equinox on the lot that we liked and made the deal to purchase it because it was the best vehicle we'd seen so far and wanted to get the trade done that day even with the lower trade in allowance. As for the Fast part of their moto, that didn't happen either and all in all it took over three hours to make this deal and we were the first customers in the dealership that morning. Just to add one more issue, I've been asked by my salesman via email to leave a great review a few days after the sale and I've emailed him back multiple times requesting touch up paint now for over a week and he hasn't responded. I contacted the GMC dealership in my neighborhood and they have the paint in stock and I'm picking it up later today. You grow up hearing those stories about used car salesman and you'd like to believe that most of those tales are not true until you experience it yourself. We bought a great vehicle , but wished we had a better time doing it

Ive dealt with so many autoparts stores but this is by far the worst! My boyfriendand I went and bought a valve head cover kit for a Chevy Sonic within a week we tried to return it because we ended up not needing it and they wouldnt allow us to return it for a refund. So now we're out over $100 my engine is on the floor of my garage and I have to rebuild it. Plus I have 2 more years of paying on the vehicle. Not going to get parts from them, thats for sure. Thanks for nothing Chevy.
