Big O Tires Introduce

Big O Tires, located at 796 Mono Way, Sonora, CA 95370, USA, is a prominent automotive service center within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category, specializing in tires but also offering a comprehensive array of general automotive repair and maintenance services. The store can be contacted at (209) 288-2858 for phone inquiries and +1 209-288-2858 for mobile. This particular location has recently undergone a change in ownership and management, an important detail highlighted by recent customer feedback.

The "environment" of a Big O Tires store is typically that of a professional and well-equipped tire and auto service center. These facilities usually feature a showroom displaying various tire brands and wheels, a comfortable waiting area for customers, and multiple service bays equipped with modern diagnostic tools, tire mounting and balancing machines, alignment racks, and lifts. While specific details about the interior of this exact Sonora location are not explicitly provided, the standard Big O Tires experience aims to be efficient and customer-friendly. They often provide amenities such as free Wi-Fi in their waiting areas. Operating hours for the Sonora location are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Sunday being closed, allowing for service during typical working hours and a portion of the weekend.

Big O Tires, true to its name, offers an extensive range of tire services, including the sale of various major brands such as Michelin, BFGoodrich, Firestone, Cooper, Bridgestone, Sumitomo, Pirelli, and their own Big O brand tires. Their tire-related services encompass:

  • New tire sales and installation

Beyond tires, Big O Tires provides a wide array of general auto repair and maintenance services, aligning with the "Auto Repair Stations" category by offering a holistic approach to vehicle care. These services include:

This broad spectrum of services positions Big O Tires as a one-stop shop for many common automotive needs, aiming to cater to diverse vehicle types including cars, SUVs, and trucks.

A significant "feature" of the Sonora Big O Tires, particularly relevant from recent customer feedback, is the impact of "new ownership." One customer, who previously had a "bad experience 2 years ago and thought I would never go back," returned after noticing the "NEW OWNERSHIP" sign. This indicates a conscious effort by the business to signal a change and improvement in service. The positive experience reported by this customer, including a great price for an oil change with synthetic oil, complimentary tire balancing and rotation, a free brake inspection, and even assistance with door handle replacement and a ride home, suggests that the new management is actively working to enhance customer satisfaction. The cleaning of windows upon vehicle pickup further exemplifies attention to detail.

Conversely, older reviews, or those reflecting experiences before the reported "new ownership" took full effect, highlight significant issues. One review describes a "horrific" experience involving tires being overinflated to incorrect pressures (e.g., 41/38 psi in the front when it should be 33 psi, and 32/37 psi in the back when it should be 30 psi), resulting in a "clown show" level of service and a "pirate job." This customer also noted a lengthy 1.5-hour wait for a simple tire change and a lack of confidence in the quality of work performed, even after paying for an alignment. Such feedback underscores the importance of the reported "new ownership" in addressing past inconsistencies and ensuring a higher standard of service going forward.

In terms of "promotional information," Big O Tires, as a national franchise, frequently offers a variety of deals and savings. For the Sonora location, specific promotions are often available. These typically include:

  • Rebate savings on sets of 4 tires from various brands like Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Hankook, Firestone, Cooper, Nitto, Nexen, and Sumitomo. These rebates can range from $70 to $140.
  • Instant savings on specific tire purchases.
  • "Buy 3 Get 1 Free" promotions on certain Big O branded tires.
  • Discounts on services such as oil changes (e.g., $20 off any oil change) and wheel alignments (e.g., $20 off any alignment).
  • Free services like brake inspections, alignment checks (with printout), flat repair (with new tire purchase), air pressure checks, and a 22-point vehicle inspection.
  • Financing options, such as 12 months no interest on purchases over a certain amount ($749 or $1200) when using their Big O Tires® and Service Credit Card.
  • Owner's Manual Maintenance savings, offering up to 10% off.
These promotions are designed to attract new customers and provide value to existing ones, making Big O Tires a competitive option in the local market. The company also emphasizes its "Everyday Low Price Tire Guarantee" and "Express Lane Tire Service" (no appointment needed), along with 24/7 roadside assistance included with tire installation (for a minimum of 4 tires).

In conclusion, Big O Tires at 796 Mono Way, Sonora, CA 95370, USA, (phone: (209) 288-2858, mobile: +1 209-288-2858) functions as a full-service "Auto Repair Station" with a strong foundation in tire sales and service. While historical customer feedback indicated significant issues with service quality and efficiency, the recent change in ownership and management appears to be a critical turning point, with recent reviews praising improved customer experience, fair pricing, and thorough service. The store offers a wide range of automotive repairs and maintenance, backed by various promotions and the convenience of a well-established franchise. For local users in Sonora, the current trajectory suggests Big O Tires is making concerted efforts to be a reliable and customer-focused option for their vehicle needs.

Big O Tires Customer Reviews

So now, if you've spent over 11 hundred on new wheels and alignment in a tire shop, a shop whose entire business model revolves around changing tires, hence the name, and you saw this (image) on your way home, you'd be forgiven for thinking you accidentally paid a local crackhead to do the job. I've had a number of cars over the years, and never have I come across anything like this. I understand wanting to get off work, but that was the only time I'll ever go to a big O. Changing four wheels took them an hour and half, which honestly feels very long and is easily the longest i've waited for a tire change. The cashier was nice. But then I had to go let out a bunch of air out of every tire. I'd call it a clown show but clowns typically understand basic numbers. Reading other reviews here leaves me thinking that if a service guy at a tire shop returns your vehicle with 41/38 in the front (should be 33) and 32/37 in the back (should be 30), which then of course go up 2 each while driving to 43/40 in the front, I have to wonder if this person didn't screw something else up. That I'm yet to see, my confidence is negative though. Probably forgot to check, though don't you usually inflate to the specific psi, instead of RaNdOmLy overinflate each tire? I paid for an alignment, random tire pressure would mess with the alignment more. If you opt for tire insurance, they'll assume you will never notice they did this pirate job. Joke's on them, I took the insurance in case they screw something up. Thanks for wasting my time, Big O!

Had a great experience bringing my car in for service. From the first call, talked to Matthew and he quoted a great price for oil change with synthetic oil and would also for no charge balance and rotation the tires. The also offered a free brake inspection. I have an old Suburban that wound not open from the 2 front doors, They were able to put in 2 new handles so I can now open the doors form the inside., asked if they are able to give me a ride while I waited, the manager approved and a very pleasant staff gave me a ride home to wait for my vehicle to be ready. Very pleased ,when I picked my car they also cleaned the windows.I had a bad experience 2 years ago and thought I would never go back. I noticed that they had a sign "NEW OWNERSHIP". So glad I gave them a second chance !!

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to my faithful fans of my reviews. This time my adventures took me to Big O tires in Sonora, California on 9/27/2024. I would absolutely NOT recommend this place not even to my worst enemy!! As my faithful fans know I am a disabled war veteran and a proud recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. The way I was treated was beyond horrendous! Let me tell you all the story of what happened. A week before I made an appointment for today (9-27-2024) for 11am. I got there little after 10 am just to be on the safe side. I wanted my brakes done and a battery change. Should have taken no more than 3 hours to complete the job and I was there for over 6.5 hours! I sat in their waiting room all that time and not once did anyone from their staff come over and update me. To make things worse I overheard them talking about them blowing up multiple brake calipers on my truck and then ordering more and they didn't fit my truck one being the wrong one completely and them ordering yet another one and that one ended up being the wrong one for my truck again!! I overheard the manager telling the mechanic NOT to update me on what's going on. The manager tried to cover up what happened to my vehicle! Big O in Sonora closes at 5pm. I finally got my keys and left closer to 6pm. It's piss poor customer service on their part for not updating me for those 6.5 hours and blowing up multiple brake calipers and not informing me made things even worse. After all that BS they only offered 20 percent off. At the end of the day I am extremely disappointed and beyond offended/pissed off they treat veterans of foreign wars this way. Take my advice avoid this place like the plague! NEGATIVE 10 STARS!! NEVER COMING BACK!!!

I set up a 9am appointment to have 4 tires changed, balanced and aligned. I have a fleet vehicle, and I showed up at 8am to be sure that all the paperwork was going to be done prior, as it always takes about an hour to get payment and service set up with the fleet management company. 3 hours later my truck finally moved from the parking spot I left it in when I handed them the key. 1.5 hours to change 4 tires! then I watched as the mechanic parked my truck in a close spot to get ready for the alignment. 3 other vehicles that showed up after me went into that alignment bay. I finally had enough and had to ASK for an update. They told me the only thing left was an alignment and then I was asked if I wanted to skip it.......? I have never had that asked of me. Sadly I was tired of being there for 5+ total hours after watching car after car get their alignment, and left without. Mind you, this is all being done while I'm on the clock for my company and ended up letting our customer down for the days projects. I would give 0 stars if it was an option. Poor communication. Lack of respect for paying customers time when scheduling appointments. I will not ever use a Big O chain store again because of what I just went through.

I recently had my brakes done here. The lady in the front was very friendly. The guys in the shop went above and beyond doing the work on my truck. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks
