B&J Auto Service Introduce

B&J Auto Service, located at 5 S Pennsylvania Ave in Mason City, Iowa, is listed under the platform category of Auto Repair Stations, suggesting that it offers services related to the maintenance and repair of vehicles and may also provide auto parts for sale. This introduction aims to present an objective overview of B&J Auto Service for local users, based solely on the information available in the provided customer reviews. Due to the nature of the reviews, this introduction will focus heavily on the experiences shared by previous customers, as there is no other information provided regarding the environment, specific services, features, or promotional activities of B&J Auto Service.

As an Auto Repair Station, B&J Auto Service would typically be expected to provide a range of services to address the mechanical and maintenance needs of vehicles. These services could include diagnostics, repairs of various systems (e.g., engine, transmission, brakes, suspension), routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations), and potentially the sale and installation of auto parts. The physical environment of B&J Auto Service would likely consist of a service bay area equipped with the necessary tools and lifts to work on vehicles, and possibly an office or waiting area for customers.

However, the provided customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the service experienced at B&J Auto Service. The first review details a situation where a customer had their car towed to the shop for an axle replacement, even providing the new axle. Despite being told the job would be done quickly, the customer experienced significant delays and a lack of communication. The car was reportedly left untouched for several days, leading to the customer being stranded without a vehicle over the weekend for what was described as a "20 minute job." Furthermore, upon receiving the car back, the customer reported new and unmentioned "weird sounds."

The second review recounts an even more troubling experience involving the replacement of a stolen catalytic converter. The customer dropped off their vehicle on November 24th and, despite being informed that the part was received the week prior (around December 6th), the repair was not completed by the promised date of Friday, December 17th. The customer then faced difficulties in contacting the owner, Jason, with unanswered phone calls and an empty business location. Upon finally reaching him on December 27th, a new promise of completion by Friday, December 31st, was made. However, the shop was closed on that day, and as of January 5th (42 days after dropping off the vehicle), the customer reported that their calls were being refused, they were unable to retrieve their keys, and their car was blocked, necessitating legal action. This review strongly advises against taking vehicles to B&J Auto under any circumstances.

Given these two highly negative customer experiences, it is challenging to objectively describe the typical services, features, or environment of B&J Auto Service in a positive light. The reviews highlight significant issues with communication, timeliness, reliability, and potentially the quality of work. Features that might typically be seen as positive, such as quick service or effective repairs, are directly contradicted by these accounts. The lack of communication, missed deadlines, and the reported new issues with the vehicle after service are serious concerns for any potential local user.

There is no information available regarding any promotional activities that B&J Auto Service might offer. Typically, auto repair shops might advertise discounts on certain services, seasonal specials, or other incentives to attract customers. However, in the context of the provided reviews, any potential promotions would be overshadowed by the reported negative experiences.

In conclusion, based solely on the provided customer reviews, local users in Mason City, IA, should exercise extreme caution when considering B&J Auto Service for their vehicle repair needs. The reviews detail significant issues with delays, lack of communication, unfulfilled promises, and potential damage to vehicles. These accounts raise serious concerns about the reliability and professionalism of B&J Auto Service. Without any positive feedback or additional information to provide a balanced perspective, it is difficult to recommend this auto repair station to local users. Potential customers are strongly advised to consider these experiences and potentially seek alternative auto repair services in the Mason City area.

Given the severity of the issues raised in the reviews, it would be prudent for local users to seek services from other auto repair stations with more positive and reliable reputations. It is recommended to research other options in Mason City, IA, and possibly ask for recommendations from trusted sources before entrusting their vehicle to B&J Auto Service.

B&J Auto Service Customer Reviews

Got car towed there on Monday to have axel replaced. Had new axel for him to put in, just needed it put in. Was told it would be done quickly. Didn’t hear anything again so I called Thursday, didn’t get an answer at 1:10pm called again Thursday, was told it would be fixed Thursday, would be able to pick up friday. Didn’t hear anything again. Call Friday at 3pm and he says he’s gonna be getting on it, asked if it would drive. Hasn’t looked at it. Never got called again Friday. Left me stranded all weekend without a car for a 20 minute job that he hasn’t done all week. Then when I got my car back it made weird sounds it didn’t make before that he never mentioned to me.

Took vehicle to Jason at B&J Auto on November 24th for replacement of catalytic converter which was stolen. On Monday Dec 13th he informed me he received the part the week prior, said he would have or installed by the end of the week (Friday Dec 17th). He did not answer or return phone calls and not at business location again until Monday Dec 27th. I caught him in the office on Monday Dec 27th after calling with no answer, he apologized but gave no explanation, then promised it would be "fixed by Friday Dec 31st. I gave him a $1400+ check from insurance company. Friday Dec 31st, no answer, the shop was closed. It is now Wednesday January 5th, 42 days since I first dropped the vehicle off and he refuses to return my calls or meet me at shop to return my keys. Plus, he has blocked my car so I can not retrieve it with spare keys. It has not moved from the spot I parked it in 42 days. Unfortunately legal action has now been advised. Do NOT take your car to B&J Auto under any circumstance.

On top of an already stressfuls day, we were in an absolute pinch and 30 minutes from home. Jason looked at the vehicle at 4:30 on a Friday and started working on ito car, so we had the chance at getting home. Our car might not have made it about half mile when we came in, but he had us on the road in an hour. This is the type of businesd experience that makes you happy to live in Iowa. Good people and great service. Thank you!
