Auto MD Motorsports Introduce
Auto MD Motorsports, situated at 1700 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713, USA, operates as an auto repair station providing a range of services for vehicle owners in the local community. As an auto repair station, their primary function is to diagnose, maintain, and repair various makes and models of cars and trucks. Their location in Tucson places them as a local option for residents needing automotive assistance.
The environment at Auto MD Motorsports appears to be characteristic of a smaller, family-run auto shop, as indicated by customer reviews. This often translates into a more personal and direct customer experience, where interactions might be with the owner or a small team of mechanics. While specific details about the waiting area or the exact layout of the garage are not extensively provided, the general atmosphere would likely be that of a working automotive repair facility, equipped with the necessary tools and bays for vehicle service. "A small family run shop" suggests a focused operation that may prioritize individual customer relationships. The nature of an auto repair station means the environment is primarily functional, designed to facilitate vehicle diagnostics and repairs efficiently. Customers visiting Auto MD Motorsports can expect a professional setting for their vehicle's needs, with a focus on practical solutions.
Auto MD Motorsports offers a variety of automotive services that would typically be expected from a general auto repair station. Based on customer feedback, their services include common repairs such as alternator replacement, serpentine belt replacement, and belt tensioner replacement. The fact that a customer had an alternator tested at a nearby O'Reilly's and then brought it to Auto MD Motorsports for installation indicates they perform installation of customer-supplied parts, or at least are willing to, alongside their own parts sourcing. Beyond these specific examples, as an auto repair station, their overall knowledge of automotive services suggests they handle general mechanical repairs, maintenance services, and diagnostics for various vehicle systems. This would encompass tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, brake inspections and repairs, tire services, engine troubleshooting, and potentially more complex system repairs. The goal of an auto repair station is to address a wide array of vehicle issues, ensuring cars are safe and operational. Their service offerings would likely extend to addressing issues indicated by dashboard warning lights, such as the "check engine" light, and resolving underlying mechanical or electrical problems.
A notable feature of Auto MD Motorsports, according to customer insights, is its status as a "small family run shop." This often implies a hands-on approach to business, where the owners or a core family unit are directly involved in the operations and customer interactions. Such establishments can sometimes foster a more direct line of communication between the customer and the mechanic, potentially leading to a greater sense of trust and personalized service. One customer highlighted the refreshing experience of "being able to get work done and not be worried about being taken advantage of," which suggests a commitment to transparency and fair dealings, a highly valued trait in the auto repair industry. However, another customer's experience also points to an aspect of their operational approach related to diagnostics and communication. The customer noted that the shop "had not tested the car after the repair and had limited to doing just the work they were told to do," leading to further issues. This highlights a feature where the shop may operate on a direct instruction basis, performing the requested work rather than initiating comprehensive diagnostic procedures unless specifically asked. This approach, while sometimes leading to efficient execution of known problems, may require customers to be very clear about their diagnostic expectations. On the positive side, "The overall knowledge of automotive services is nice" indicates a baseline level of competence in the mechanics' understanding of vehicle systems. The direct communication style, though sometimes leading to misunderstandings, can also be seen as a feature of their straightforward operational model.
As for promotional information, like many smaller auto repair stations, Auto MD Motorsports relies significantly on word-of-mouth and direct customer interactions. The phone numbers, (520) 620-9891 and +1 520-620-9891, serve as the primary means for customers to contact them for inquiries, quotes, and appointments. The presence of online reviews, both positive and negative, acts as a form of organic promotion and feedback. While no specific promotional campaigns or discounts are explicitly detailed in the provided information, businesses of this nature often build their reputation through consistent service and transparent communication. Positive reviews, such as those praising their general knowledge and fair dealings, contribute to their promotional efforts by establishing a trustworthy image. Conversely, critical reviews, like the one detailing a negative experience with an alternator replacement, also form part of their public profile and serve as a point of reference for potential customers. Given their nature as a family-run business, they may foster customer loyalty through personal relationships and reliable service, which itself is a form of ongoing promotion. They likely do not engage in large-scale advertising but rather depend on their local reputation and the experiences of their clientele to attract new business.

Auto MD Motorsports Customer Reviews
I do not recommend using this shop for technical or specialized services. I took my car for an alternator replacement based on having it tested at a nearby O'Reilly's and getting a new one from them. O'Reilly recommended this shop to do the replacement work, so I fell for it. The shop's initial quote was ~$340 on labor only, but ended up paying over $800 due to, according to them, more parts and labor needed. The $800 was after negotiating from over $1000, since I felt they were overcharging me. When the car was picked up, it struggled to start despite having new alternator, new serpentine belt, new belt tensioner, new battery. Upon calling the shop, I learned they had not tested the car after the repair and had limited to doing just the work they were told to do. The mechanic hang up on me when I stated that I had lost all my trust in their work. His argument was that I had not asked for proper diagnostics to begin with. Customers are no car experts, that is why we take our cars to specialized shops.

The overall knowledge of automotive services is nice. to be able to get work done and not be worried about being taken advantage of is refreshing. A small family run shop.

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with these imbeciles when my boyfriend had to have his intoxalock taken out of his 2014 Mustang after Christmas 2021. We had told them how time-sensitive it was, because we both had to be at work on Jan 2 across the country in FL. They took advantage of that desperation by lying that the keys had somehow been stolen out of the car when we dropped it off, when nothing else was taken from the car—and they had a camera out there to capture the supposed thief who allegedly wasn’t them but wouldn’t provide that footage. And then charged waay above market price for a new key on top of stealing the old key. Then they left wires hanging under the ignition that they didn’t even know how to put back where they belong when they took the device out. So another expense to fix their shoddy work. At least the car made it to FL like that to get to a real mechanic. These people are clowns.
