Appalachian Mountain Rides & Motorcycle Emporium operates as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" with a distinct focus on the motorcycle community. Unlike typical car repair shops, this establishment caters specifically to the needs of motorcyclists, offering a blend of sales, comprehensive service, parts, and even rider-centric amenities. With locations in key areas known for their scenic riding routes, such as Elk Park, NC (165 Mountain View Lane), Damascus, VA (215 West Imboden Street), and Greenville, VA (273 Penmerryl Dr.), it positions itself as a vital hub for adventure and dual-sport motorbiking enthusiasts across the Appalachian region.

Environment and Facilities:

The environment at Appalachian Mountain Rides & Motorcycle Emporium is tailored to the motorcycle lifestyle. While detailed architectural descriptions of each location are not widely available, the nature of their business suggests a welcoming and functional space for riders. One can expect a well-equipped motorcycle shop with dedicated bays for maintenance and repair, designed to handle various types of motorcycles. For locations that offer lodging, such as the one in Elk Park, NC, amenities can include a "five bed bunkroom, furnished with linens and towels" specifically for motorcycle travelers. Other facilities, as mentioned in connection with similar "motorcycle shop available for public use" locations, might include secure parking for bikes, and possibly shared common areas that foster camaraderie among riders. The overall atmosphere would be geared towards enthusiasts, providing a comfortable and practical base for those exploring the extensive riding opportunities in the Appalachian Mountains. The presence of a "motorcycle shop available for public use" also implies a level of openness and a community-oriented approach, potentially allowing riders access to tools or workspace.

Appalachian Mountain Rides & Motorcycle Emporium provides a comprehensive range of services specifically for motorcycles, going beyond simple repairs to support the entire riding experience:

  • Motorcycle Repair and Maintenance: This is a core service, covering a wide array of motorcycle repair needs. Specific mention is made of offering oil changes and a variety of services, including roadside help. This suggests they handle routine maintenance, diagnostics, and potentially more complex mechanical issues for various motorcycle makes and models. The general description of a "motorcycle shop available for public use" further hints at comprehensive mechanical capabilities.
  • Motorcycle Sales: While not explicitly detailed as new bike sales from specific manufacturers, the "Emporium" in the name suggests a retail component, which could include sales of used motorcycles or a curated selection of new ones, as well as parts and accessories.
  • Parts and Accessories: They likely stock a range of motorcycle parts, from essential maintenance items to performance upgrades and rider accessories, catering to the diverse needs of motorcyclists.
  • Rider Accommodations: A unique offering, particularly at their Elk Park, NC location, is the provision of lodging designed specifically for motorcycle travelers. This includes a bunkroom, emphasizing their commitment to serving the broader needs of the riding community. This also serves as a "basecamp for adventure" for those exploring the region.
  • Training and Guided Tours: Affiliated entities like Appalachian ADV, which share a similar ethos and likely collaborate with "Emporium" type businesses, offer "training opportunities and trails on-site, as well as a motorcycle shop available for public use." This extends their offerings to include educational and experiential services, such as "ADV and Dual Sport Motorbiking" education, safety clinics, and guided tours. This indicates a specialization in off-road and adventure riding.
  • Community Hub: They aim to be a central point for the motorbiking community, offering not just mechanical services but also a place for riders to gather, share information, and connect, as reflected in the concept of "bringing people together" and forming a "camaraderie."

Their services are geared towards ensuring motorcycles are well-maintained for optimal performance and safety, particularly for those embarking on adventure rides through the challenging Appalachian terrain.

Best bike shop around backstreet is closed down and if you have a death wish go ahead and go to Cherokee county cycles you'll be lucky if your front tire doesn't fly off the bike going down the road. But Appalachian mountain rides is a place you can trust they work on all types of motorcycles good job guys thank you

GW repaired several issues on my 1973 Honda 750. Fixed everything I requested and a couple I was unaware of. I highly recommend him for all repairs. Very knowledgable and detailed.

Started raining when I picked my bike up and have not gotten a chance to ride yet. Service and price seemed to be good. They kept me updated as they were refurbishing my carburetor and air intake.

GW and Jay are amazing people and will bend over backwards to help you with anything they can fix. They are amazing people to get to know. Definitely people you can call if you’re bike needs a little help. Also fair prices on bikes they have for sale.
