Action Auto Introduce
Located at 1010 Ramsey St, Albert Lea, MN 56007, USA, Action Auto is an establishment that operates within the automotive sector, functioning as a car dealer. While the primary business model is that of a car dealership, its inclusion under the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category suggests that it also provides corresponding services or goods for sale related to vehicle maintenance and repair. The contact numbers provided are (507) 377-7637 and +1 507-377-7637.
As a car dealer, Action Auto would typically feature a lot for displaying vehicles for sale, as well as an office area for sales and administrative tasks. Given its classification under "Auto Repair Stations," it is also presumed to have a service bay or workshop where vehicle repairs and maintenance are carried out. The physical environment for a business of this type would generally include space for vehicles, tools, and equipment necessary for diagnosis, repair, and servicing. The specific size and layout of their facility are not detailed, but it would need to accommodate both sales and service operations.
Customer experiences, however, provide some insights into the operational environment. One review notes that a vehicle was left "sitting outside, not locked in a shed as they had claimed it was," which suggests the presence of an outdoor storage or parking area for vehicles undergoing service or awaiting pick-up. The cleanliness of vehicles worked on was also a point of contention in one review, mentioning a car that was "filthy, obviously having been used." These observations provide a glimpse into the condition and management of vehicles within their operational space.
As a car dealer listed under "Auto Repair Stations," Action Auto is understood to offer a range of services beyond just selling vehicles. Based on customer accounts, these services include:
- Vehicle Repair and Maintenance: Customers brought vehicles in for various issues, such as carburetor problems and engine replacement. This indicates that the facility undertakes mechanical repairs.
- Engine Replacement: One detailed account specifies an engine replacement service, which is a significant and complex automotive repair.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Although not explicitly stated as a service, the nature of repairs like carburetor kits and engine issues implies a diagnostic process. However, customer feedback suggests challenges in completing these diagnoses and repairs effectively.
The core business of a car dealer would also involve the sale of vehicles, likely pre-owned, given the context of repair services. Details about their inventory of vehicles for sale are not available, but one review mentions a "credit of another $250 for an F250 with a blown engine," suggesting that trade-ins or vehicle acquisition for parts or resale might also be part of their business model.
The key features of Action Auto, as gleaned from customer experiences, appear to revolve around their approach to vehicle repair and customer communication. The business presumably aims to provide solutions for vehicle issues, drawing on the expertise of its mechanics. However, customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding follow-through and transparency.
One customer detailed a prolonged experience attempting to get a carburetor repair completed. The vehicle was reportedly not finished as promised, with multiple rescheduling attempts due to the shop being "too busy" and even missing a "timing light" tool. This suggests potential issues with resource management or workload balancing. Furthermore, the customer reported that their vehicle ran worse after the initial attempt and ultimately required a new carburetor from another shop due to internal damage from overtightened screws. This points to potential quality control issues in their repair work.
Another customer's experience involving an engine replacement paints a picture of substantial dissatisfaction. Issues included:
- Lack of Documentation: The customer was not provided a bill until payment was due, raising concerns about transparency in billing.
- Unauthorized Alterations: Changes to vehicle locks and keys, removal of the key fob, and installation of different license plates were reported without apparent authorization or explanation.
- Part Swapping and Condition of Vehicle: The customer claimed that original parts were replaced with non-functional ones and that the vehicle was returned in a dirty condition, having seemingly been used by the shop. Specific non-working parts mentioned included the brake light switch, multi-function switch (for cruise control, wipers, turn signals), and thermostat.
- Damage and Neglect: The steering column was loose, tow lights were cut, and the spare tire rack was wedged against the tailgate, requiring removal for access.
- Payment Method Issues: The shop insisted on cash payment in full and charged an extra fee for gas that was not needed.
These accounts suggest a significant disconnect in customer service, communication, and the quality of work performed. The features that customers would expect, such as reliable repair, clear communication, and respectful handling of their property, appear to have been points of failure based on these reviews.
Specific promotional information, such as advertising campaigns, discounts, or loyalty programs, is not available from the provided data. Typically, car dealers and auto repair stations might promote services through local advertisements, online listings, or special offers on specific repairs or vehicle models. However, based on the customer reviews, some of their business practices have been a source of concern:
- Payment Practices: The insistence on "cash in full" for a significant transaction, as well as an unexplained additional charge for gas, indicates a particular approach to financial transactions that some customers might find unusual or problematic. The delay in providing a bill until payment was due also contributes to a lack of financial transparency.
- Communication and Time Management: The recurring issue of being "too busy" to complete a job and the failure to call back as promised suggest challenges in managing workflow and communicating effectively with customers about service timelines.
- Customer Trust and Accountability: The most significant aspect of their operational practice, as highlighted by the reviews, is the erosion of customer trust. Claims of damaged, replaced, or used parts, unauthorized alterations, and a general lack of resolution for reported issues suggest that accountability for service quality is a major concern.
In summary, while Action Auto functions as both a car dealer and an auto repair station, offering services ranging from routine maintenance to complex engine repairs, the available customer feedback points to significant challenges in service delivery, communication, and overall customer satisfaction. Prospective customers would be advised to consider these past experiences when evaluating Action Auto for their automotive needs.

Took my truck in to get a carburetor kit put in as it was not running very well. Stop back at the end of the day to pick it up he said he didn't have a chance to get it 100% finished but I could use it for the weekend the way it was bring it in Monday. Took it in on Monday he said he was way too busy couldn't get to it. Took it in on Tuesday he said he was too busy couldn't do it. He added he was missing his timing light and couldn't properly time the vehicle. Went back there two more times and he was always too busy to finish my vehicle (I already paid him) I told him my vehicle was running worse now than before I brought it in I could barely get it started. He said he would call me as soon as he could. I never heard from him. Took my vehicle to another shop they confirmed I needed a new carburetor because you over tightened a couple of the screws interior. Paid $600 for a remanufactured carburetor from another shop vehicle still runs great to this day.

They were supposed to replace the engine in my Blazer. I paid $1850, and got credit of another $250 for an F250 with a blown engine. They wouldn't give me a bill until I came to pay for it. There was nothing else wrong with it except for the passenger side mirror being off. They changed the locks and keys, leaving the steering column loose, and no more key fob. Good thing I had kept a door key. They put different plates on it, and parted it out, replacing my parts with parts that didn't work. It was filthy, obviously having been used, and was sitting outside, not locked in a shed as they had claimed it was., and the tow lights were cut off. The brake light switch, multi-function switch for cruise control, windshield wipers and turn signals, and thermostat all had to be replaced, and the spare tire rack was wedged against the back tailgate so hard it had to be removed to get the tailgate to open. Plus, they insisted on cash in full, and charged me an extra $10 for gas it didn't need.

If they tow your car, don't sign anything without a detailed inspection first. Didn't see it till I got home but the front bumper and a fog light were broken.
