A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair Introduce

For residents of Dearborn Heights, MI, and the surrounding areas considering automotive repair services, particularly for transmission issues, the establishment operating under the names A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair and reportedly, more recently, NAGI Quality Auto Repair and Tires, located at 8630 N Telegraph Rd, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127, USA, warrants a careful and objective assessment based on the available public information. The phone number for this establishment is (313) 730-2700, and the mobile phone is +1 313-730-2700.

Regarding the environment of A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair, the provided customer reviews unfortunately paint a concerning picture. While physical aesthetics or waiting area comforts are not explicitly detailed, the operational environment, as described by customers, appears to be fraught with issues of disorganization, lack of accountability, and a disregard for customer property. Allegations of a vehicle being "crashed" on their premises without a police report, and subsequent damage like a "damaged front tire," a "bumper being pushed in," a "dent in my front fender," and damaged "headlight" and "headlight bezel" indicate a highly problematic and potentially unsafe environment for customer vehicles. The owner or manager reportedly ignoring the customer regarding the crash further exacerbates concerns about the professional atmosphere and customer care within the facility.

As an Auto Repair Station, the core services offered by A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair primarily revolve around general automotive repair with a specific focus on transmission services, as indicated by its original name. While an auto repair station typically provides services such as diagnostics, engine repair, brake service, and general maintenance, the available customer feedback primarily highlights issues related to their transmission repair services. Based on the reviews, the services that customers sought from this establishment included:

  • Transmission Rebuilds: This appears to be a core service, as two separate customers mention costly transmission rebuilds on their vehicles.
  • General Automotive Repairs: While the focus is on transmissions, the "Auto Repair" in the name suggests they also undertake general vehicle maintenance and repair.

However, the effectiveness and quality of these services are severely called into question by the customer accounts. One customer explicitly states that after a $6,000 transmission rebuild, the vehicle "still had the exact same problem" and that the shop "failed" to correct it after two subsequent attempts. Furthermore, a dealership later confirmed that parts claimed to have been installed by A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair were actually missing and would have been covered under manufacturer warranty, indicating potentially deceptive practices regarding parts and repairs. Another customer reported a transmission failing within a month of a rebuild, with evidence suggesting the torque converter was never replaced despite being part of the rebuild. These accounts raise serious doubts about the integrity and competence of the repairs performed by this facility.

The features of A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair, based on the provided negative reviews, are unfortunately characterized by significant concerns rather than positive attributes. These include:

  • Allegations of Unaddressed Problems: Multiple reviews indicate that the core issues for which vehicles were brought in were either not resolved or recurred very quickly after costly repairs, particularly for transmission problems.
  • Lack of Transparency and Honesty: Customers allege that the shop claims to install parts they do not, and that the owner/manager ignored a customer after their vehicle was crashed on the premises. The customer's assertion that the shop's response is a "lie" and the explicit warning that they "rip people off on transmission repairs" underscore severe concerns about transparency and honesty.
  • Substandard Workmanship and Negligence: The reports of a transmission failing within a month, evidence of parts not being replaced, and significant damage to a vehicle while in their care (including a dented fender, damaged headlight, and an unreplaced tire) demonstrate a severe lack of quality workmanship and potentially gross negligence.
  • Poor Customer Service and Communication: The account of a customer being ignored after their vehicle was crashed, coupled with difficulty getting through to the shop and delays in repairs ("three and a half weeks to rebuild the transmission," "another three weeks" for a second rebuild), indicates highly unsatisfactory customer service and communication.
  • Questionable Warranty Practices: The customer's inability to find their 2-year/24,000-mile warranty in the system after the shop changed its name raises concerns about the validity and enforceability of any warranties offered.
  • High Pricing with Disputed Value: Customers claim to have been "charged way too much money" for services that were either incomplete, ineffective, or resulted in further damage, suggesting a significant disconnect between the cost and the value received.
  • Potential Misleading Reviews: The customer's assertion that "most of the five star reviews on here are false" and encouraging others to "look at the one star reviews" indicates a perception of manipulated online presence.

Given the nature of the reviews, it is extremely challenging to objectively present promotional information for A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair in a positive light. Any traditional promotional offers (such as free estimates, warranties, or discounts) would be overshadowed by the severe allegations of substandard work, lack of transparency, and customer dissatisfaction. In fact, the most prominent "promotional information" conveyed by these reviews is a strong warning to potential customers. The explicit advice "If you are thinking about bringing your vehicle here, DON'T" and "Please listen to this post of mine and take your car elsewhere" serve as a critical alert to anyone considering their services. The alleged name change from A-1 Transmission to NAGI Quality Auto Repair and Tires, mentioned by a customer, could also be seen as an attempt to distance themselves from past negative experiences, further emphasizing the need for extreme caution. The focus from the provided data is not on typical customer-attracting promotions but on cautionary tales from past experiences.

In summary, while A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair (or NAGI Quality Auto Repair and Tires) theoretically operates as an auto repair station offering transmission and general auto services at 8630 N Telegraph Rd, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127, USA, potential customers are strongly advised to consider the severe negative feedback from multiple sources. The reviews detail significant concerns regarding quality of work, transparency, customer service, vehicle handling, and the validity of repairs and warranties. Prudence dictates seeking alternative automotive service providers in the Dearborn Heights area for reliable and trustworthy vehicle care.

A-1 Quality Transmission & Auto Repair Customer Reviews

I made a very big mistake and took my Chevy Express van to this repair shop for a transmission problem. They recommended a $6,000 rebuild. When I picked it up, I still had the exact same problem. I took my vehicle back twice for them to correct that problem and they failed. I took it to a Chevy dealership and they said I needed to replace parts the transmission shop claimed they installed and it would have been done under manufacturer warranty. If you are thinking about bringing your vehicle here, DON'T. This is why they changed their name from A1 Transmission to NAGI Quality Auto Repair and Tires. They rip people off on transmission repairs. It's a very, very sad day. *** Update *** I have documented proof from the dealership. The response is a lie and you can see they changed the sign.

Probably the worst experience Ive ever had going to a mechanic. I went there for a transmission rebuild in January of 2020 and it took three and a half weeks to rebuild the transmission. I called shop for a couple of days and was ignored so I went down there and found out my vehicle was crashed. The owner or manger ignored me and I had to find out by going there. The front tire also was damage due the bumper being pushed in and the tire grinding against the bumper. The truck was fixed to an extent. The tire was never replaced and the bumper was put on wrong. Their is still a dent in my front fender. After the car was fixed my transmission failed within a month. I inspected under the truck to see if the torque converter was changed and that was never changed. On a 1994 Ford Bronco you can drain the torque converter through the belle housing and I noticed the same torque converter was still in. The shop took my truck back in and rebuilt the transmission once again. I had to wait another three weeks and little if any priority was taken to get my vehicle up and running again. The transmission is leaking fluid around the belle housing. I would never recommend this business to anyone. If Im responded to Im eager to see this businesses response. Again the tire was never replaced and little effort was made to fix the dent in the fender. Also the headlight was damaged along with the headlight bezel. Lastly No policed report was made when they crashed the truck. I have never written a review for any business but I needed to share this. Again minus the car being damaged to the transmission failed within a month. I also was charged way too much money Im embarrassed to even write the amount. I honestly think most of the five star reviews on here are false and if you’re thinking about having work done here look at the one star reviews. Theirs several of them. I do believe its comical that the shop is called A-1 quality. Believe me their is nothing that is quality about this business. In response to the owner so I guess if I wanted to come back and get work done on my transmission Im not in the system? This is funny absolutely comical because my 2 years 24,000 mile warranty isn’t in the system! So you didnt even do that right. Do I have to take a picture of my receipt and post it on here? Please listen to this post of mine and take your car elsewhere.

First time customer and I will be a long time customer. The owner and Ron were great, kept me updated every step of the way with my transmission. Honest, up front on cost and excellent service. I just referred my friend and he's bringing his vehicle here tomorrow. Thank you for getting my Buick back on the road
