1st Choice Transmission

I took my by 1985 Chevy C10 suburban here after replacing my rear differential and truck wouldn’t shift to 2nd gear. I explained to them my situation. They quoted me $3,000 for a transmission after I told them mine was good. $30 later(governor gear, seal and cap) the truck is running great again. Always get a 2nd opinion when dealing with this place.

I picked this place solely on the positive reviews and they did not lie!!! Al and his team are awesome. I’ve lived in Vegas 5 years and he’s the best/most honest/reliable mechanic I’ve seen. He completely replaced my transmission in a week for a super great price. You can tell he really is cutting people great deals, taking his time in the office getting to know his customers, and running his business with knowledge and quality character. Especially being a woman with no family in the area/knowledge about cars - I felt super comfortable and well taken care of. Bring all of your vehicles here - you won’t regret it!

Car trouble on the way to Vegas leads to finding a true gem of a human. About 60 miles from Las Vegas (while driving from Northern California) my 2011 suburban began shifting gears and over heating. Growing up, my Dad was a mechanic and I could hear him telling me to pull over and get a tow….but I didn’t. I slowed down, turned the A/C off, and cruised into Las Vegas. On the way to the dealership, I saw 1st choice transmission and thought let’s see what they could do. After sharing my story with Al, he immediately hooked my care up and diagnosed the problem. He then called and priced parts right in front of me. He could not have been anymore transparent and fast? What more could you ask for??I highly recommend 1st choice transmission. Thank you, Al. Al and his team were so amazing, they saved me! I broke down 50 miles away from Vegas after I had just bought a car in Phoenix. I got the car towed to Triple AAA, and they said they would check it out the next day. Okay, so they checked it out and said I needed a new transmission. I started to cry and freak out because I had work in just two days! I asked how long it would take, and they said usually it would take a month or two, but for them, it would take one to two weeks. I started panicking and called every single place in Las Vegas. I was so desperate that I was bawling my eyes out, saying, "Please fix it today or tomorrow!" I called this guy named Al, and his place is 1st Choice Transmission & Auto Care. I told him the problem, and he told me to bring it in. He had his mechanics on standby, and he ended up working all night to save me, my job, and my car. He got it done in less than two days. He was so sweet and even offered us a ride, knowing how bad our luck was. I one hundred percent recommend him. He actually cares and is a genuinely good guy. Thank you, and God bless you guys. If it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't have made it home.

The owner AL is awesome. Good quality work from people that know what they are doing. Very hard to find honest shops that don't try to take advantage of people. Service is fast, work is guaranteed. Definitely found a shop I will recommend to all my friends and family...

It's been 2 months now and I've had nothing but problems first I paid $3100 for them to rebuild the transmission , he had my truck for 12 days , brought it home a few days later noticed transmission fluid leaking down the driveway, took it back in Al said it was a faulty torque converter, he replaced it, to 2 weeks ago the torque converter was winning so bad , he made me wait 2 weeks he said just drive it , I did , he replaced the torque converter out again have had the truck back since last Friday and now it's leaking again , I'm so pissed off , I don't know who to blame but this is absolutely ridiculous, don't want to deal with him anymore, but has a 1 yr warranty, don't have any other options but get him to fix it again . Going to ask for compensation as I had to rent a car for 2 weeks , cost me over $500 , going to contact the BBB and consumer protection to find out what my options are and also contact my credit card company and start a dispute , I've read some other good reviews but for whatever reason seems that I've got nothing but problems . Don't know who is at fault but I don't want to deal with him anymore. Hope that no one else has problems like what I'm having . Good luck !!!

Shout out to the owner for ripping me off on a year or so ago for my flywheel for 1000 bucks. Still grinds. 2 stars because it inspired me to learn how to do it myself to save the headache pf dealing with the auto industry

Possibly the last honest mechanic, in town. They care about their customers. They were timely to diagnose my truck and provide many options for repair including timelines and options that were less profitable for them.
